I do not want to stop asking. I do not ask to stop wanting.

Seriously, I thought the game deserved a hell of a lot more than what it got for its single player. There was just so much I could do in that game that I always wished I could in others. Definitely my Shooter of 2011 and a strong contender for GOTY (if not GOTY itself).

Anybody else feel the same way?

You look around. You fire your weapon before you realize.
Its just me. I fall and you walk up. You cry why.
When i pop up. You look at me in wonder. I say,"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL."
You bend to my will and go to a cliff, walk off, and fall.
The last thing you hear is me stating as fact,"All will fail the battle of life, you just went early"

I never really like the multiplayer, but the single-player was great.

A little Off-topic: I'm disappointed with how long the AvP multiplayer lasted. I think even the demo out-lasted the actual game...

BNet, the only vidya game forum where sigs are pointless.

Why? It took everything that was great about the first and made it more generic, IMO.

It was a very different game to the first, but as a standalone title it was fantastic.

Though the story was a jumble of pretty generic sci fi elements with pretty much no analytical depth to it whatsoever.

Am i in 2011?

Fixed. It's not an opinion when it's true.

Crysis 2 was consolized in every sense of the word.

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

I thought the campaign was well done. However the multiplayer component needed some serious work. I enjoyed playing online, since the weapons and abilities were a lot of fun. The lag in that game was just downright horrible at times though.

Remember those times when we all had something better to be doing, but didn't do it? Those were good times. Gooood times

I think the singleplayer was great. It presented a challenge and options to get through the game. The multiplayer, on the other hand was rather frustrating... Though more enjoyable than Crysis 3's alpha test.
*shivers*
It felt like I was playing CoD with a character that could jump ten stories and turn invisible

Why does everyone feel that X Generic Military Space Shooter deserves to be GoTY?

You honestly telling me that Crysis 2 stacks up against the likes of Skyrim, Arkham City, Skyward Sword, Portal 2 and Uncharted 3?

No.

It doesn't.

Crysis 2 was forgettable. Only reason why I remember it's campaign is because I'm goddam OCD.

Generic?

For starters, no part of this game take place in space. Its not a military space shooter, its a scifi fps. Generic? Go ahead and slap that label on the multiplayer, but the campaign was amazing. A bit shorter than I would have liked, but amazing none the less. The game has everything needed for a successful shooter- a mystery the forms the plot, an enemy you don't understand, a weapon you have that you don't understand. The games silent protagonist may rarely speak, but you learn quickly who he is from his ally's reactions to him, his actions, and the end. A true patriot, if you ask me, perhaps a bit of a superhero, if you would.

Reception doesn't matter to me.

I would be disappointed with the game itself, not so much the critical reception.

Congratulations on nitpicking.

but the campaign was amazing.

Exactly.

And that's reason you think it's GoTY material and not the forgettable game it is.

The human element always mucks things up.

Multiplayer was crap
Auto aim was crap
Sprinting was crap
Voice acting was crap
Graphics were pretty though...
