@Vinyl_Hb

A few of you may know that I'm ranked top 10 in Washington state for competitive CoD, and after enough evaluation I have made up my opinions on the multiplayer.

Many people write a review the day after the game comes out with even playing much of it first.

The first thing I noticed when jumping into the game was how similar all the guns feel. I honestly felt no difference between the subs and the ARs. The recoil on the weapons seems to be all similar, the only difference you really notice is the rate of fire. Unlike previous games where different weapons would have different types of recoil (In the way of up and down, side to side, and forward and backward bounce.)

The second thing I noticed was that the pick 10 custom class system feels a bit flawed.
In order to use a second perk in one of the slots, you have to use a wild card. I was very disappointed by the fact that a wild card takes up one of the 10 slots, and so does the second perk you use.

The 3rd and biggest issue I've noticed is how flawed the League Play ranking system is. I would rather use Halo 3's ranking system than this trash. It does not put you into matches against similar ranked players, and it doesn't move you up in divisions the way you think it should. If you are playing solo play, it is very dependent on getting lucky in the players you get teamed up with. My first 5 games that were used to judge my win/loss ratio and place me in a division, 3 of which I was paired up with players running around quickscoping or using knife only. Making my win loss 2-3, placing me in the bronze division. My friend who also had 3 losses played solo with me afterward, and after winning 2 matches with him, he was also placed in bronze.
Now heres the kicker. The next match we play, he goes up to a silver division. At this point we have the same win loss ratio and same win streak. So how the system determined to move him up is beyond me. We won 2 more games and I still did not move up.

Fourthly, the shock charge and bouncing betty combo is ridiculously painful to encounter. Treyarch claimed they wanted to reduce camping, In doing so they created the campers best friend. Throw down 2 shock charges and a betty where theyre camping and its essentially a free kill. The shock charge is pretty much a stun/concussion grenande that does damage, it also prevents you from hearing the betty go off so you dont know to drop to the ground in order to avoid it.

The spawns in the game are pretty meh too... Especially in free for all. Players will spawn right next to you a good percentage of the time, usually players that you just killed.

The maps a nice, some are designed very well, others however, you walk around the map wonder what the hell the people who designed it were thinking when they made it.

Dead silence also seems pretty useless, Sound whoring seems a bit nerfed in some areas, and over powered in others.

Overall, the way the game plays is great, I wish there was more variety in weapon handling. The ranking system is terrible, and as per every call of duty, there is always a noob friendly combo thrown in there for the less skilled players.

Personally, I enjoyed the way the game handled in Black Ops the most, the Frame rate and maps of MW3, but Black ops 2 seems to lie somewhere in between.

tl;dr:
Game is good. Has some flaws. Very different from the other call of duties.

Halo 3 is where the morons of the universe congregates.

I am thinking of an old story. "Three Billy Goats Gruff" (hint the troll dies at the end)

I hated the maps in MW3. How could you defend their maps?

They weren't my favorite at first either, they grow on you though. Arkaden and bootleg were great SnD and CTF maps.

Agreed, OP.

"There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I'd like to think that I walk that line every day."

Ehh, I think the shock charges are quite easy to hear, although bouncing betties are quite annoying. I run Engineer (basically SitRep, see all equipment in red) on every single class. Which is stupid, all perks should be viable options.

Another thing to mention is that the connection system is still spotty, as always. I don't think I've ever played a game that hasn't had that issue, though.

Otherwise, yeah. I don't play League, though, so I wouldn't know or care about that.

I haven't checked to see if there's a lag comp system so I didn't mention it but you're right. Ive noticed that just like the first black ops, host as an extreme advantage. I've also found players sponging an abnormal amount of shots.

I am a ghost. Once fighting for the enemy I now lie in wait for their deception; to turn it on it's side. Should they choose to enter our domain they will encounter the fleet of ferocity of 1000 generations and At the hands of the Reclaimer they shall shudder and fall. - Mendicant Bias, Shard 9 - Callsign designation, "gladiator 9"

Whether or not OP is some pro in call of duty he is not qualified to give an opinion on The game.

Pick ten is the most balanced system to date.

1. complaining about the wildcards is rediculous. You sacrifice the slots to get the benefit of a second attachment on your pistol because if you didn't everyone would have it equipped. and if you watched the incredibles you would remember the villian saying "once everyone is special, then no one is."

2. the maps in MW3 were horrible. they had very poor use of vertical space and were mostly just latteral play spaces.

3. I don't understand why there are complaints about the "feel" of the guns. There are only so many ways you can make a gun recoil when you are on call of duty game number 9. Black ops 2 is number nine in the series.

4. just because you play a game competetively doesn't make you much more knowledgable about game design and mechanics. Unless you have actual knowledge in the field you are not different than the rest of the pro gaming crowd. FYI - what sets you apart is your knowledge, based on facts, and not just your opinion of I like xyz over zyx therefore zyx sucks.

OH, and number 6.

This was a horrible review. All you did was point out a few things you didn't like.

You didn't even give an overall review of the game features in even a small ammount of depth.

Yes, there are flaws with the game but you couldn't even point out the most glaring ones.

I can't believe you are complaining about shock charges as a "pro" gamer.

USE THE ENGINEER PERK AND YOU CAN SEE THEM THROUGH THE MAP.

Thanks for the triple bump, Sir Butt Hurt.

I'd use engineer but in past games it wasn't necessary because equipment was always banned from play.

Anyone is qualified to give a review on a game because a review is exactly what it is. A review of personal opinions on the game.

Also, please point out where I said in my OP that I was a 'pro'. You can't. I am top 10 in my state, not considered pro yet.

I think DLC is a pretty cool guy. eh give us new mapz and doesnt afraid of anything.

ARs are superior at range, if you havnt noticed that I dont know what game you are playing.

The reason they put two perks in the same slot is because generally they are similar, so they penalize you for choosing to similar perks. That makes perfect sense to me.

League is very flawed, but I think that is due to there being only around 800 people playing it at a time.

Shock Charges and Betties are both easy to dodge. Although I hate Shock Charges due to how annoying the noise they make is.

No FFA spawns have ever been good in CoD. Also I find them to be well planned in multiplayer.

In my opinion most of the maps are designed well for competitive play, besides Yemen and I think Drone.

Dead Silence is still VERY useful in SnD like it always has been.

Also im not sure how you liked MW3s maps more than BOs.

Never said I liked them more, actually the MLG mapset for Black Ops is probably the best mapset there has ever been in my opinion.
