Something witty.

"A dark future... An uncertain past... No one left to trust. Oni's unique brand of third-person action features a responsive and innovative control scheme, and a character with the flexibility to match."

So...anyone else played this game besides me?
Truth be told, it's actually what got me into Bungie, and ever since then it's held a special place in my gaming heart.

So I guess this should be a general thread for the game. Discuss anything you'd like about it. Anything.
Well, except where to find nudes for Konoko. You're on your own for that one.

I was never very good at those combo attacks. Comm Striker was a spiffy guy, though.

Read some stuff about it on Halopedia, but other than that it was before my time. Seems pretty cool, but I think that I've heard some mediocre stuff about it.
However, this does give some greater meaning to your avatar.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

I replay it every year, fantastic game! It's still uncontested in some areas of gaming elements.

A feature in Oni's gameplay that I often bring up, is that the projectiles actually spawn from the gun, unlike Halo where it appears in mid air. One can even shoot in midst of a somersault, and have the bullet hit something in the 360 degreeish circle that the weapon swings. Just love that three dimensional crosshair.

If one slides, one can pick up items on the go. Enemies can grab ones weapon in a move, or pick up any weapon--for that matter--that is in the area. The game just had a high level of dynamicity. The levels were wonderfully open too, although some were a bit too open...

Still dream about a spiritual successor now and then.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I played it on PS2, reminds me of Jack and Daxter.

RIP Derek Farley

I bought the game a week or so ago. I've been really interested in trying out Bungie's games before Halo. I'm still getting down the controls, though.

Oni was a good game on PC. I always enjoyed how easy and natural all of the special moves were and how the traditional issues with camera angles in third-person perspective games were absent in Oni.

Though to me the game always did feel as though it was half-finished. No added moves after about halfway through and something of a meandering story. Certainly not as superb of an experience as Marathon or Myth, but still worth playing.
