Subject: I'm tired and fed up with bad teachers

~Thread-killer~

Nice blog there, bud.

School isn't a one way deal. They teach, you absorb and learn. Sounds like you aren't doing your part.

Why are you here?

My teacher doesn't teach -blam!-, so I just learn it myself.

Interdasting bud. Are you having fun? Try learning in a -blam!- school where they don't even teach.

Simple solution: Get out of that hard class.. What good does it seriously do in High School? No one cares that you have an A in like ridiculous math.

I've had my share of bad teachers. But theres nothing you can really do because the unions will protect them no matter how terrible they are.
That's why I'm not a fan of teachers unions. They serve no purpose but to keep us employed - sometimes when we shouldn't be.

While this is true having a bad teacher can make learning so much harder.

Remember, 2+2=4.

WRONG, WINSTON!
2 + 2 = 5!!

That's such a good book.

On topic: Pre-cal is definitely a challenge in high school if you don't have a good teacher. By no means is it impossible, but it can be a struggle.

Vote for me for a free cookie.

I took Chinese as a second language. The teacher was not Chinese, did not speak the language or ever been in the Country. He read the words off a book and guessed the pronunciation. Didn't learn a single thing all year.

Of course there were a lot of racist remarks in the class from the egotistical jerks.

God, nothing is more annoying than that one guy who gets straight 90's on every assignment and cries because he didn't make 100.

Please stay away from my lunch table.

Math classes are taught poorly to begin with. You take the test, and never go back to the material, which doesn't allow you to fully understand it at all.

Not all snipers hit their target on the first shot.

BTW ask for help or your screwed.

Not true is very repetitive in the future. I will agree that you dont go back to all material such as characteristics of graphs, but stuff like trig follows you through all of calculus and physics.

OT: I've had my share of bad teachers and youve actually described one of my teachers currently, whenever I get confused in class and don't understand I go to patrickJMT on youtube and he teaches very well and is easy to understand. However, trig isnt something you learn how to do, it's all pure memorization. You may learn how to derive some angle formulas other than that the rest is memorizing.

Calculus calms my troubled mind

OP you'll never be an egghead if you don't take some initiative for yourself to learn. In the end it's your responsibility.

  • 12.13.2012 11:14 PM PDT

Welcome.
You have just entered my mind. Please sign the contract before continuing further into this black hole to acknowledge I am not at fault if any mental/physical damage is caused to you whilst viewing my history. If any damage to yourself is caused, please call your whaambulance for advice.

If this hasn't already been suggested, talk to your teacher about the trouble you're having. Perhaps he or she can go over it with you before / after class or at lunch? Or maybe he / she will have suggestions of websites you can practice on. Or get a tutor.
