Been there. Done that.

US Navy 2004-2010

What did you do?

If good looks could kill, I'd be a weapon of mass destruction.

Q: Hey, what did Hitler say to the black jew?
A: Get to the back of the oven.

Marine Corps Infantryman here.

The true military life.

Go Navy. If you end I up joining, I personally suggest going into the Aviation field, avionics if you have a choice in it. I just finished boot camp about a month and a half ago, and I'm having a great time at NAS Pensacola doing my schooling.

Nope.

But if I was cut out for the military, I'd try to reach the rank of General. It's not the killing in Halo that gets me elated. It's the strategies. I just love pulling them off, coming up with them, etc.

Oh and the friendly AI. I love having control of them, managing them, assembling them, etc. (which is harder in Halo 3 and noticeably missing in Halo: Reach and Halo 4)

Was going to join. Took the test, got a 96. Was going to do something with intelligence or counter-intelligence, but I have too many tattoos for them.

Oh well.

All that is needed for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

If another conflict like Afghanistan starts, and I'm in proper physical shape (which I plan to be), I'm most likely joining the military.

I plan on enlisting into the Air Force after I graduate. Yes, I've talked with my recruiter, and he agrees with my choices.

I'm planning joining the Army (haven't decided on what job yet), and then I might think about joining the Marines depending on how my experience was in the Army.

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY CHROME.

Going into the Marines, going to be an aircraft mechanic. I leave August 12th for boot camp.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

I'm not eligible, and I really don't want to sign away a few years of my life on a contract. Either way, thanks to all the service members out there doing their job.

What's it like? As I'm going to end up down there for mine as well.

Why is isn't there a "Doesn't plan on joining" option?

Lol, idk. I didn't think about it. I was more interested in seeing what people were going to go into, not who isn't going to join.

  • 12.14.2012 6:28 PM PDT

Got all the way to MEPS, I don't think I'm gonna go through with it. If I can just get a job here everything will open up for me.

Check out The Game Lounge

I am not cut out for it, but I would if I had to.

If I had to, I would choose Air Force, even though I can't fly planes due to my eyesight, I would still join the Air Force.

Does the Army even care about GPA as much as other things?
To the most of my knowledge, no.

For enlisting? Not really. It's all about the ASVAB score.

For ROTC/West Point? Absolutely yes. It's one of the largest factors in deciding how you branch as an officer. But your High school GPA really only matters when getting you INTO the commissioning program of your choice. Once you're in one, your college GPA is massively important.

The ASVAB is too easy IMO. I don't see how it's possible to fail; when I took it I think 1 person in my group of 200 or so failed, and she was only there to cut class and sleep on the damn paper.

I ended up getting a 79 without studying, it's designed to be passed with an average of 50.

It's something I'll keep in the back of my mind, but nowhere near first priority.

Well, it's not exactly graded like a normal test, or at all really. It's more like an averaging scale with subcategories that decide which MOS's you're qualified to train in.
Or something like that...

And I am probably just trolling you right now....especially if it is a controversial thread

I wish that I could join the military, but I have hemophilia.

At best I would do National Guard, or maybe be a cop, but no more than that.

I would actually enjoy being a cop.
