I have played it, and while the beginning got me into it, I knew that it would have been shortlived.
The game starts out great:
A body guard for the Queen is sent back after a mission, with her worrying about a rat plague that is killing everyone. I honestly felt like the time I was playing Bioshock for the first time and loved it.
The intro gets you used to the mechanics of the game: Stealth.
Now that is a big part of the game, but that is not why it disappointed me. The reason is that it wasn't implemented well.
Too many enemies and the weapons felt like kid toys that made the most ridiculous loud noises.
However: The use of magic made it more better, but even then the magic wasn't that good.
Sure, it's nice to zoom past guards, but the idea of stealth isn't "Now you see me, now you don't". To be stealthy is to never be seen.
The graphics were muddy and horrible. For an UE3 game, there is no excuse. Metroid Prime ran on a heavily modified UE3 engine revision. If that can do it, there's no excuse for this.
I would give it a 6/10
