The Spartan II's always had thrusters. Read the damn books you lazy bastard.
The fact you have to direct people to the books (or other parts of the Halo universe external to the game(s)) only serves to reinforce how badly told the story was.
The 1st book ever made had them in "The Fall of Reach" I guess you could say Bungie was bad at story telling since they refused to show the cheif use it when giving the covenant back their bomb in Halo 2.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

I enjoyed Halo 4

Just like the terrible multiplayer.

The terrible multiplayer you still play?

Put in the disc to play two games. Laughed at the population and went back to Call of Duty.

Both of those two games were boring. First time I've touched the box in something like two or three weeks?

And also, why do all the Spartans have armor Cortana custom made for Chief?

That Prologue was crap.

Cortana didn't do anything. The armor was retconned.

OT: Spartan armor always had thrusters for EVA maneuvering in space.

Yet it still doesn't make sense in terms of the canon. If that is indeed Mk.VI...then how do the other Spartans have it before Halo 4, Halo 3, Halo 2 or Halo:CE?
This is how it makes sense, 343 wanted to connect the audience to the new armour that the Storm and the Chief is wearing by not changing it for the flash backs.

That way new players won't be thinking "Why do I and they have different armour?" which would break the immersion straight away. Veteran Halo fans, while they would complain will just push to the side and enjoy the story.

"hAHAHA! Wow! 100,00 players! so dumb! 343 needs to learn how to make a FUN game. Like CoD!"

Have fun with....what ever there is to do Black Ops

  • 12.14.2012 4:49 AM PDT

I'll take a straight up retcon than some botched lore BS. Like ME2's thermal clips, every character acts like they always existed which is fine, except the Codex tries to suggest the Geth developed thermal clips and then the galactic community implemented their "improvement" in their own weapon designs... which doesn't make any sense since Geth weapons don't actually utilize thermal clips (gameplay-wise they function as if they had thermal clips though). Then again, the ME Codex has not always aligned with what is seen in the actual game.

Also how did the Forward Unto Dawn magically change in design and armament?
Cortana obviously redesigned it with her nano-bot army. I hear AI have a thing for putting huge missile courtyards onto things.
I enjoyed seeing "Hull at 96%" when half the ship is destroyed.....

But hey guess you can catch everything.

Pretty much.

I don't care that they did and I understand the artistic lience stuff to, as long as the canon is explained or matches 95% of the time I don't care.

Not everything is perfect I mean think about it, it shown Kelly fighting a brute cheiftan yet there was no gravity field thrown off like in game.

But despite that it looked cool as hell anyway.

lolhalo4population

Oh wait.
It's still the second most popular game on live? Roughly the same average players as halo 3 a month or two after it came out?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but halo 4 is still popular.

Easter Egg Hunter. Apprentice Tricker/Glitcher (learning from Grumpy and Sliding Ghost).

Trying to get Waypoint to update Halo 3 stats in detail like here. Now no one can see that my Halo 3 Spartan no longer looks like my Reach Spartan.

Really want to be a Heroic member or have a title. :/

The opening cutscene's elite Minor's disappointed me. They had plasma rifles and Minor helmets, I'll give them that, but seriously, cover them completely as they should be.

Its also not like other opening cutscenes of Halo. Halo 4's was more like a heads-up to new players on the very basics of what happened in the glorious other games. More evidence that 343 tried to appeal more to the new players than the old.

Although I was pleased seeing that Chieftain.

ITT: Nerds get upset over inconsequential cosmetic effects in a video game.

You losers need to get out more.

The irony of this statement.

Halo 4's prologue had better storytelling than every gameplay/in-game cutscene of every Halo game combined.

The statement is entirely correct, regardless of how much you throw the word "irony" around.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

In order to understand halo 4 I would say you would have to read 5 previous Halo novels.

You unlock this door with the key of inebriation. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of gingers, a dimension of drunks, a dimension of Lucky Charms. You're moving into a land of both beer and potatoes, of marshmallows and leprechauns. You've just crossed over into... the Shamrock Zone.

GT: Agent Shamrock

Do not underestimate them...but more importantly..do not underestimate...Space Magic

I remember during the beginning of First Strike. Red Team has to bail from a Pelican, and they just had to free fall until they hit the ground. One of them dies too. Dumbasses should have just used jetpacks.

Those nobs on the shoulders of all Spartans are thruster packs, which is why, both in the trailer and in the game, youy can use a thruster pack.

Wow. I don't think even any of the B.Net Forum Ninjas like some of the messes in plot for the game.
