Subject: Halo 4: Why/how is the Didact so powerful?

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

In Halo 4, the Didact has numerous powers; he can telekinetically lift people and objects, control an entire army of Promethean warriors with his mind, and he somehow manages to turn the orb he was imprisoned in into a movable vehicle. How did he get these powers? Was it natural for the Forerunners to have these abilities, or did the Didact gain them himself somehow?

Those are all technology. My questions are, "Why are Forerunners reskinned humans?" and "Really? They joined forces?"

Some high ranking Forerunners would get special augmentations/mutations that would enhance their abilities. The Didact's weird appearance and Telekinetic abilities being examples.

It's all just technology. He was originally the master of the prometheans, maybe he had a program in his armor that brought them back under his control. The telekinesis is just some sort of gravity manipulator, even the covenant have tech like that, although less advanced (I.e. the fist of rukt). And I don't see how the cryptum being flyable is even a problem, it clearly doubles as a vehicle. Probably for prisoner transport.

The forerunners are genetically quite similar to humans, it is theorized that they were both created by the precursors. And the Covenant worship forerunners, it would be easy for the didact to manipulate them into working for him.

I believe they diverged from a common ancestor.

His "weird" appearance was a result of an attempted experiment for resistance against Flood infection. His original appearance during the Forerunner-Human war was that of a Promethean Warrior Servant.

Ahh it's you. Been a while hasn't it? We WILL finish this.

Just you wait.

Its not natural. Its most likely the armor hes wearing that makes him do that. Keep in mind the didact has the most advanced forerunner combat skins at his disposal.

Humans and Forerunners were not at all genetically related- they just had similar gene maps. /convergent evolution

Hence his manipulation of gravity and control over prometheans. And why cant we have an enemy that powerful? Hes the didact, hes basically the spartan IIs of the forerunners.

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

Forerunners could make constructs the size of a solar system.

They made stars.

Is this really such a big question??

Because having to refer to outside sources to understand the game is good storytelling.

Knowing this or not knowing this has absolutely no effect at all on the story. It's not part of the story. There's no need to know these things unless you're interested in them. They serve to further flesh out the universe, not the story.

You can't possibly expect them to explain every bit of technology and history shown in the games.
