Too many children died today and too many more grew up way too soon.
This is way too god damn true.

To obtain, something of equal value must be lost.

So a guy in china injured 2 dozen people with a knife the other day around a school too

Just for perspective.

I know right NOW isn't the right time to talk about this, but when is it the right time? With so many shootings, it's really hard to find the right time..

Sad, but he injured them, not killed them.

That's besides the point. Either cases could be prevented with better precautions and security.

I would say the Chinese guy had it harder, but take out the adult the rest are easy.

At least the American had to aim.

And is America going to do anything to control who can buy guns? Of course not..

Sigh.

I'd bet $100 that these are unregistered, illegally procured handguns, like it is with the vast majority of other crime.

The legal process to go through to get a weapon, especially a handgun like in this case, is not easy. You can't just pop into Wal-Mart and buy a Glock on the way home.
It's still ridiculously easy. You're also forgetting the fact that because guns are easy to get, more guns will be produced and they will be cheaper, making them available for more people. That also helps spreading them illegally.

I'm not saying restricting gun laws will solve the problem completely, it's just part of the process. But it needs to be done.

People are right when they say today is not the right day.. The right day should have been years ago.

Gun nuts will take freedom over safety, although they have convinced themselves that they are the same thing.

  • 12.14.2012 10:54 AM PDT

Disgusting.

I don't live in America and we have hardly any gun crime here since they're illegal. I think if America introduced stricter gun regulations it would be a good thing.

People don't have to die for others to realize the problem. Nobody is denying that guns make it easier to kill people, but it's not the manner in which they are attacked, but that of which the attack was even permitted to happen in the first place.

Octavia is best pony.

Bastards. And the worst part is that the Right and the Left will immediately jump on this and try to politicize it.

Yes Costco. I need a 50lb bag...I mean sack of sugar.

All schools need to follow strict security policies now.

All doors locked at all times, no matter what.
Some kind of identification to enter the building.
A crazy screening process to allow entry to visitors.
Metal detectors, metal detectors, metal detectors.
Start posting a cop at each school for security, because not all of them have resource officers.

It's sad to me that someone can gain entry to a school so easily but not to a government building of any kind. Protect the old and corrupt and leave the young to the wolves is how America works apparently.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I just found out that one of my wife's friends works in that school district. She is devastated.

I am really having problems with this one. The other school shootings that have happened were by students. I know that doesn't make it any different. But to hear an adult did this. That his own child is one of the victims...

I've said I am in the middle of an adoption. I just couldn't imagine hurting a child, let alone my child. Who could do this? what kind of monster are you to do this?

Just wanna put this in perspective:

Sandy Hook is a k-4 school, which means all students are under 11 years old; most under 10.

Whenever you feel like I suppose, but it shows that gun ownership has no correlation with homicide and violent crime.
