Why would someone target a place with so many small children?
Becuase schools are places where the shooter is guaranteed that there isn't any armed resistance.

Wait, what about the man who shot up Fort Hood?

I know all the schools in my county have a police officer who works there. What about the fact that so many shooters end up shooting themselves?

More than half the stuff being reported now will end up being incorrect. Same as the mall shooting.

What a horrible thing

Military bases have very few actually armed people on base, not including training bases and the like.

They don't want to face consequences of their actions.

I don't understand why American let's people own a gun and carry it round it's madness as you know you could easily piss off the wrong person and face the maximum punishment for it.

Oh look, another on who doesn't comprehend the criminal mind.

Look bub, if a criminal wants a gun, he'll get a gun whether or not they are legal or not.
If you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns.
Yeah... good thing someone else was armed in the elementary school and was able to stop this tragedy. NOT!

Yeah, if the police or anyone else shoot you dead you won't have to face the consequences either.

They call me graland.

Why do they feel the need to kill people when they know they are gonna kill them selfs?
Attention. They want to be recognised or remembered. If a random guy kills himself, no one notices or cares beyond immediate friends/family. If a random guy shoots up a school and kills a bunch of students, then it becomes national news and gets remembered (look at all the people who have already brought up Columbine and VT).

It's for this reason that I never use the names of these killers when discussing such massacres.

Suicide by cop is a real thing.

Questions lead to learning, learning leads to kowledge, knowledge leads to understanding, understanding leads to peace.

"I would kill to get a killionaire... 10 times... digitally."

This is going to be the new Columbine. It's rather shocking to me personally since I live only 40 minutes away from this place.

You are not suggesting that armed guards are placed in every public space, are you?

Around 14 people died in Columbine?

Here it's around 30 or so.

Every school I've gone to had a school resource officer who was armed.

I think we can all agree that this is worse than Columbine.

It is terrible. Waking up to this was just unspeakable especially the reported 28 dead. It also wasn't surprising that a American was behind it.

Last I heard is that 15 children were murdered, and then 9 adults. I hope this gets no worse.

Yeah. But it's still suicide, which is often done by people not wanting to face the consequences for their actions.

It's foolish to say that even in places where there are very likely to be guns mass shootings don't happen.

There are cops in each school, save the elementary schools in the district. This will probably change soon.

Of course not. It happened in the US. It's rare that a non-US citizens shoots up a school.

As far as I know, shootings at elementary schools are unprecedented. So what's why there are no SRO's at elementary schools.

I think School officials should be armed. At least the teachers, principal or any other high authority person.
