play for keeps

To be completely honest, the words I have for this situation would probably get me banned for profanity. And then I had to hear that the shooter apparently posted on 4chan before he did it...

I don't know. I really don't know. There's just too many emotions surrounding this. The world can be a twisted place man. I feel sorry for anyone involved.

It is terrible. Waking up to this was just unspeakable especially the reported 28 dead. It also wasn't surprising that a American was behind it.

Yeah, this is definitely the time to be hating and stereotyping someone for their nationality.

It's happened before, 9/11 for instance.

OT: Appalling news. Especially in a primary school.

I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

Please not now, not in this thread. Start another thread if you wish. This isn't the time and place for this debate.
If it isn't when kids were murdered with what appears to be a legally-purchased weapon, then when and where?
They are still taking the bodies out of the building.

Like I said, start a new thread if you wish. The argument detracts from what happened here.
Thinking of that makes me sick. I wouldn't be able to do it. If I were any of those responders...I wouldn't be able to set foot in that school.

Police just reported that his mother was killed in her classroom. That she taught kindergarten and most of the kids that were killed were in her class.

God damnit.

I feel for the families. I had a close friend that was executed by 3 guys in a drive by when he was eating. There's nothing worse than losing someone you love. It's been 2 years and I still haven't gotten over it.

Now, I tend not to be very relgious, but damnit, I do hope there is a special place in hell for this guy.
Yeah this gunman got the easy way out sickening

Cowards is what they are. Stay alive and take the punishment, go to each each and family, look in their eyes and tell them why you killed their kids.

It's more insensible not wanting this discussion right now, when 18 small children are dead. How many more massacres does the US and its citizens need?

Have your discussion. But not in this thread. We don't want to hear it right now.

The fact that more Kindergarten children lost their lives - it's horrible. Parents of the lost children will come to learn of the news of their child and you know how I would feel? I would feel like my life just ended. KINDERGARTNERS.

Those children barely had a life to live. I take care of kids at my job. 25 students, and all of them have a place in my heart. Even at this moment I have a kindergartner here with me. Has no clue what's going on. It's horrible to think that someone could do this.

The 4chan part is true. The second you said that I checked, there was a thread on it two days ago. He even said it would be in Connecticut. Honestly, -blam!- 4chan. -blam!-. Something could have been done.

some sources are reporting the teacher in the classroom was his father.

Interesting. The killings could've been more directed towards his father with the others being seen in affiliation. Of course, I'd need a bit more to go on than this. Moar.

I'm hearing the Mother was the teacher, and died there. Reports say the shooter killed his father earlier.

They also just said that they foudn that his brother has been killed too.

What he means is to respect the thread and the massacre that happened. A discussion / debate on gun laws is NOT respecting the massacre. Yes, it may be in good faith, but please - as he said, take it somewhere else.

Yeah, but not much. Anonymity is a biggy on 4chan. Plus, the mods barely roam around /b/, just to catch pedo's and spambots.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

The debate DOES need to happen. Just let people have time to react and process it. This is a tragedy like really none other in the USA. People's friends, children, brothers and sisters have just died. Those of us who live clear on the other side of the country are effected by this.

Starting the debate now just isn't right. Start another thread, wait a day, something, anything, just not here.

  • 12.14.2012 12:32 PM PDT

Absolutely heart wrenching...seriously wtf....

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

Disgusting.

-blam!- this. I've browsed that site since 08'. This is sick. They're tabulating his "scores" right now. -blam!-. This. -blam!-. The worst part of it is most of them are most like middle schoolers or something, posting how funny this is. I feel numb over this. Just nothing, no words. This is wrong.

That's just /b/, mostly. Most of 4chan aren't like that. But you're right, it is wrong.

(I'd never thought I would agree with you)

Key

A mental competency test before allowing someone to own a gun would honestly solve a lot of the gun-related problems we have in America. But "oh no it's infringing on my second amendment right!" Yes. It is. If you're an insane person I have no problem with infringing on your 2nd amendment right. Otherwise, it is not infringing your right to own a gun in the slightest, just delaying it.
