I feel a little odd as I'm not really getting the same reaction out of this as everyone else, it's very -blam!- up but I'm not crying or vomiting over it.
For those that don't have the same reaction, it's understandable. However if you think about it more - there should be something there. What if it was your sibling, friends sibling? What if it was your child?

I'm putting their lives into perspective. I'm thinking about the feelings of the people who were affected. I'd want to hold my future child that much more tight that night. I'd want to spend every little second with my child.

I personally don't have children myself, but I do want to be a mother. It's hard to imagine these things.

Those 20 children didn't deserve that end to their lives. Those 20 children had futures, and likes and dislikes. They had a favorite food, and a favorite color. They were learning about themselves and things around them. Could you imagine what they were learning when the gunman came in? Maybe they were counting, reading a story. It's horrid.

If it were a friend/family I'd probably be bawling, but I just can't put it in my perspective to the point that I'll be as sad as everyone else seems to be.

guarantee you though if I hear any mucking up of this from anyone they're getting a stern stfu

Something that the news said that really was emotional was that the teachers were trying to keep the kids from seeing anything that was happening.

The teachers were trying to keep their students minds off of what was happening by playing games, and telling stories. That's amazing.

Geeez, my mind is going a million miles an hour in regards of this. To imagine that there are Christmas presents under their trees and those kids that passed away will never get to open those presents, and the parents don't get to see the joy on their faces when they do so.

I know I'm a bit late to the discussion, and it's a bit old, but I was busy working and only heard the news a bit ago.

A tosser is the same as a wanker. To toss oneself off is to fondle the trouser weasel.

I don't think I am being disrespectful by bringing this subject to this thread. I'm starting to feel a bit distressed over this whole thing so I'll just leave for a while.

He would just be killed again although he would still get the easy way out by getting an injection and he gently goes to sleep

EGO mos bulla astrum.

And this is why we need more gun control. Keep the guns from getting in the wrong hands.

And to all you ignoramuses that say criminals can get guns so you should have one should also should note that very few if any people would shoot back.

  • 12.14.2012 1:06 PM PDT

They just said on the news that the gunman is not Ryan Lanza but it's his brother Adam Lanza.

What point are you trying to make? A criminal wouldn't shoot?

I thought about my little sister when I heard this (she's only 8), and when they said Firefighters were exiting the building crying it hit me pretty hard.

This was pretty much my reaction, just not as extreme.

I used to be indecisive, but now i'm not sure.

At least there weren't a lot killed.

Well that's odd because I find 26 children to be a pretty high amount in this case.
26 children won't be with their families during the holiday season because of one Loony and his guns.

I'm curious to find out the shooters identity if it's a student or someone from outside.

It's best that we're not curious. The last thing we want is the media giving this shooter attention.
Never works out well.

The safety and calmness of my students would have been my first concern, too. They don't need to know exactly what's going on. Maybe their parents can fill them in later, but keeping everyone calm in the heat of the moment is more important. Well done on their part, I think.
