Actually, the 2nd amendment was to protect you from other people with deadly weapons.
Then it's a failure.

Since the Columbine shooting there have been 32 other school shootings in America. Over the same time period there were 14 in the rest of the world.

If guns kept people safe, America would be the safest place in the world. Apperently having over 300000000 guns in the country is failing to keep people safe from guns...
Per capita, America has one of the lowest crime rates in the modern world.
>implying homicide rate is not the statistic that's actually relevant in this situation

Please tell me someone has brought up the issue of mental health to counter all this anti gun crap.

That insanity -blam!- never works. Apparently every killer is insane. You know how many cases are nullified to the concept of "insanity" little to none.
Your point being?

Using someones mental stability was a way to not cause a worry about gun laws. It's not a counter to anti-gun debate. Killers are insane because they killed, not insane because they desired to kill. That's why people refer to almost every killer as crazy or mentally unstable.

Its low compared to Africa. Africa has armies fighting for power, rebels, and militias. US has none of those.

My point was using someones insanity isn't an argument for those for strict gun laws.

Soon people everywhere will blame Call of Duty or Battlefield as a training ground.

OT: This is sick and disgusting. Bad things happen every day but it's the ones that stick out that are the worst. 20 kids? God . . .

No they're blaming this one on Mass Effect.

I think this guy went over the edge, because he most likely got motivated by the coverage of the guy in Oregon.

He most likely wanted to be the center of attention.

He got what he wanted, yes he killed himself, but now he is being talked about and will be a part of history now.

He must have not had accomplished much in his life, he most likely thought that the only thing he could do to leave his mark was to commit such a crime.

He'll be like all the other mass killers.

It's really horrible that kids were murdered, any one of them could have been the next great person, the next Einstein and so on.

I really think that the killer in such a case shouldn't be showcased on national news, they shouldn't be talked about at all unless they are still alive after the crime and are on the run.

I really think if the news doesn't showcase or mention the killer's then some crazy people might not be motivated to follow through on the feelings and thoughts they have.

~Thread-killer~

So, lemme get this straight.

Because some nutjob went and shot up a school and abused his rights, you people somehow believe that's enough to be able to take my rights away? WTF did I do? I didn't shoot up a school, and neither did the other 150 million responsible gun owners. Why punish the many for the sins of the very, very few?

There's a girl dead a town over because some drunk driver plowed into her at a stoplight. I don't see anyone vocalizing their desire to take my keys away because he messed up, so why do you wish to take my firearms?

So.... how long till the WBC says they will picket the children's funerals and call everyone there f@gs...?

I don't think they're that stupid. If they do that, I really believe someone may take a shot or two at them.

Also, someone in the nursing home choked on a piece of toast and the're not taking away your bread are they?

Couldn't care less.. Go to bed with your guns and have some babies for all I care.

And hey, at least you already have some in case you ever become unhinged.

Guns are tools for hunters, maybe soldiers... and playthings for weak people.

Playthings for weak people,eh? Nice invalid opinion you got there.

I hunt quite a bit. In fact most of what I eat comes from deer, hog, squirrel, dove, and the occasional quail. Beef as well, but there's no hunting season on those.

Still, you avoided the meat of my post: How come when one whacko goes off his rocker, the anti-gun nutcases want to take away firearms from those who have done no wrong?

It's my opinion, I'm not concerned about what you think of it.

Hunting, fighting in wars... okay. Otherwise it's weak people. Weak people who are so scared of dying they'll lug a piece of metal around with them for a false sense of security ...but they'll die anyway. You can't shoot death.

Better to move onto the next world then live in constant fear.

If someone is going to shoot me, they're going to shoot me. That's their thing and karma will repay them in time. If you don't fear death you won't see any point in walking around with a gun bulging like a phallic symbol in your pants.

You don't need a gun, no one does.

You and everyone else who has a gun just want them, you and them don't need a gun to live.

Just because a bunch of old guys wrote on a piece of paper "the right to bare arms" doesn't mean that that "right" should still stand.

Times have changed that "right" doesn't need to and shouldn't apply today.

There are a lot of people who use that outdated and backwards quote to own guns, even when they shouldn't ever be allowed to own a gun.

The fight has been complete.... now get the cookies!

While we certainly share your enthusiasm for the return, we here at the Bungie.net community are mostly made up of snarky asses and jerks who will ridicule you for making a thread about something revealed months ago. We regret that your innocent intentions will almost certainly be replied with anger and sarcasm, and politely invite you to don your Flame-suit, because you just did the internet equivalent of jumping up the Construct lifts.

Old news, got enough of that on my local news channel. It's sad yes but -blam!- happens.

The homicide rate in USA is 4.2. Very close to the international average for developed countries.

I think the real victim in this is Bioware. They caught mountains of unnecessary flak because of the media's misidentification of the shooter and people's need for a scapegoat. They're artistic integrity just couldn't save them this time...
