There's so many...
God dammit, PA. Really? At least one a year every year but 05? That's embarrassing. Get your -blam!- together.

Yeah but it's hardly going to make it easier for them.
Doesn't stop Mexican cartels. They seem to be getting their guns quite easily.

Yes, because of all the American companies making them. It's quite simple, stop making more guns, take back those that have been made.
incorrect its more often shipped from south american country's like Colombia and Nicaragua where they are cheap and easily obtainable.

No one on Earth needs a gun, you can hunt deer or whatever with a bow and arrow.

When it comes to the "Right to bare arms", that is a very much outdated part of that document.

And the supreme court is just a bunch of old people who grew up in a very different world compared to today.

Their views on things don't represent the world today.

Of course people will always do evil things, the human race is very much flawed and has been from the start.

All a person needs in life is food, drink, and shelter.

Everything else is a want or desire.
that's right!! people don't NEED the bill of rights the government should totally throw us in a gulag

well except like only 20 years ago when my grandfather was hunting for food in Missouri using just an browning auto-5

I don't understand why American let's people own a gun and carry it round it's madness as you know you could easily piss off the wrong person and face the maximum punishment for it.

Oh look, another on who doesn't comprehend the criminal mind.

Look bub, if a criminal wants a gun, he'll get a gun whether or not they are legal or not.
No. This doesn't happen in the UK.

Exactly, at least by making guns harder to get it willd eter the mentally unstable and the emotional kids that shoot up the schools.

The people that shoot up these schools arent criminals anyway, theyre just mentally unstable people that happen to have got a hold of a few guns because they had some spare cash lying around.

I will debate to death this claim. You can't use 'mentally unstable' as a failsafe point. This man could have had perfect control of his faculties, but only the Lord knows what possessed him to commit the mass murder spree that he did.

You think Hitler was 'mentally unstable'? If that were true, there's no way he could have gotten away with what he did. The non-Jewish Germans would've kicked him out of their country if they thought he was mentally unstable.

Everyone who infringes on someone else's rights is a criminal in some way or form. Period.

I Love Lamp. And Ender's Game. Don't tell Lamp.

I just got up, so I don't know if this information came out earlier, but NBC said he shot the window and entered through there, and he also had an assault rifle along with two semi-automatic pistols. They were his mother's weapons. Sorry if this is old news.

Just heard on Channel 9 news that the guns were legally registered to the mother. Not too sure how it works in America, but should background checks not only happen to the person getting registered, but all members living in the household?

It's the personal responsibility of the owner to properly store the firearms. IE in a locked gun cabinet and locks on the triggers/loaders.

Again, as I've said it comes down to people taking more personal responsibility than blaming the system. You can't make people correctly store their guns. I know people that just have loaded guns lying around the house...you're just asking for something to go wrong at some point. I have mine stored and locked and only I have the key on my personal key chain...no one is getting at them except for me.

Hence by making guns illegal there wont be any rogue weapons lying around unprotected. minimising these random acts of violence

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

Map of Mass Shootings In U.S. Since 2005.

There's so many...
They are almost all on the east coast or in California...

Not a single mass shooting in South Dakota, (At least since 05) and there are A LOT of guns here. Flood-Logic would lead me to believe that the map would be literally covered with an even spread of yellow dots, beings all guns are evil and all gun owners are mass murderers.

Probably because there is a greater density of population near the coasts.

Showing that it's the people who are creating the problem, not the guns.

"Right now it is raining methane on Titan. The planet Uranus is, hilariously, orbiting the sun sideways while Venus spins backwards. We sit here on a planet marked with collisions, rocked by earthquakes, shaken by storms. A planet doomed to be fried in radiation as its magnetic fields collapse, until the sun grows and leaves nothing of the earth but dust. Here we sit, glasses on our noses, inhalers in our pockets, braces on our teeth, and we say "Behold the perfect ORDER of it all!""

So in a sense, the media is helping fuel these shootings. Obviously media fame isn't the only reason, but there probably is a link

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

Something has to change here, how did we get to this point where a man can walk into a school loaded with guns and kills little kids?

  • 12.15.2012 7:46 AM PDT

The gun nuts are missing the point.

What's the point then?
I'm just stating a fact that something needs to change. People in this world are getting more and more messed up. They are acting out in the worst possible ways. I did not bring up anything about banning guns, I don't care for all the politics that arguments brings up. All I said is something has to change, we need a change otherwise this kind of crap will keep happening.
