Why is everyone raging on about automatic assault weapons when we don't have any details on what was even used?

And people are still against gun control.
I'm not sure how not having gun control would have solved this problem. If anything, it could have made it exponentially worse.
Look at the prohibition age. It was bad!

Gun control doesn't prohibit the ownership of firearms, just prohibits certain types of firearms. Without any gun control, it would be increasingly easier for a gunman to open fire with an automatic rifle on a dense group of people, resulting in more injuries/deaths with less work.

Actually, police recovered a Glock and a Sig Sauer handgun.

They are crazy but going to a school and killing means they probably put some thought into it.
That doesn't make it any less crazy.

I dont think it will ever happen. But does the average civilian really need assault weapons that can fire 100 rounds a minute? No the average shooter needs one so they can murder school children
How are assault weapons, as you call them, any more lethal than the average semi automatic hunting weapon?
Because its a lot easier to kill with them and rain down bullets than it is with a handgun
You know this shooter was using a handgun, right? And I asked you about semi-auto hunting guns.
Even if he used a handgun is there any justification for needing an assault rifle over a handgun?

But wait, schools are Gun Free zones. How did he get a Gun there? I thought there was some magic forcefield that prevented guns from entering gun free zones.

Hey wait, wasn't Clackamas mall a gun free zone too?

How are all these shooters entering these gun free zones?!

News says that he was using pistols, and apparently had plenty of ammo on him.

AR-15 with frangible ammunition is one of the best home defense weapons there is.
Also, it isn't an assault rifle if it isn't select fire.
Get that into your head.

Lmao yeah that's gonna help.

Not the police and people involved in actually bringing justice to the matter.

Just pray, and it'll be ok.

No offence mate, because I respect you quite a bit as a forum member, but what will that do? If I believed in God I'd be asking him why he allowed this -blam!- to happen in the first place, never mind praying.

What kind of God lets kindergarten kids be killed?

That is what I have, along with my SIGMA under my pillow.

Everything you know is wrong.

I don't think handing teachers firearms will do the situation any good. There have been shootings initiated by teachers for their own incentive.

I think armed guards are the most ideal solution to prevent these incidents. My old school has two armed guards.

This is a horrible occurrence so close to such an exciting holiday, especially to little children.

Because someone who doesn't know what he's talking about brought up "assault weapons" which is a term made up by anti-gun advocates to describe guns that look scary.

So it would make it easier to defend yourself and shoot a guy with an assault rifle than it would with a handgun? Assasult rifles are much better at inflicting mass casualties than handguns do.

Holy -blam!-. At first it was no fatalities and just 3 wounded. Now it's 20 dead and 10 of them children.

Damn it. You can -blam!- about gun laws all you want, but while guns don't kill people, it makes it a hell of a lot easier to. And that ain't right.

Also, what you are talking about aren't assault rifles.

And I'm not even going to go into how most gun related homicides are both committed with cheap, disposable handguns along with the fact that most homicide is criminal on criminal and black on black.

What im trying to say is. Crime will always be here. And criminals in the US will always have guns. And these shootings will keep happening and more people will die. The last time this happened in the UK was about 20 years ago.
