EU leaders have agreed on a roadmap for eurozone integration beyond the deal on centralised banking supervision, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.
Speaking after the summit talks, French President Francois Hollande said: "There is no doubt today about the integrity of the eurozone - Europe cannot now be taken by surprise."
Has Europe rediscovered its mojo?
The banking union is just one part of a plan, drawn up by the EU's bigwigs, that will eventually lead to the creation of a "fiscal union" - the direct transfer of money from taxpayers in one part of the EU to help citizens in another, much as happens within any nation state
The German viewpoint can be summed up as: "No taxation without representation". They will seek a grand bargain with Europe.
What is more, the europhile German Foreign Minister, Guido Westerwelle, and 10 of his European peers have drawn up a plan for a full-blown political union, including a common military.
So it looks like the wheels on the European Superstate has started to move and going to pick up its pace pretty quickly I imagine.
The problem is some nations want the superstate while others like Britain don't, at least not yet. Chances are Britain will work with the EU economy and Military from the out side since every EU member acknowledges Britains importance in those 2 area's.
One German was quoted saying "Without British military hardware and expertise the EU military will be like a knife without a blade".
What do you think about the emerging European Superstate??
