I think we can all agree that something needs to be changed. The current status and laws are not good enough and this will keep happening. Action needs to be taken ASAP

  • 12.14.2012 12:28 PM PDT

I agree.

  • 12.14.2012 12:29 PM PDT

No. If people break laws with guns, nothing will change by changing the regulations of guns, they're still gonna break the law anyways. All you're doing is making it harder for normal people to get guns when the people who will get them for illegal activity will get them the same way as any.

What we need is better mental health screening prior to purchase of said firearms. Sane people don't use a tool like a gun in such a way.

The law isn't the considerable problem.

It is the management of guns. That includes who they are given to, and how securely they are kept. The latter being the more important.

The problem here doesn't involve gun rights; if anything, it involves paying more attention to mental illness. The shooter was obviously psychopathic, which raises questions as to why no one attempted to resolve his psychological issues before the shooting.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

The only people the should be carrying/owning guns are the police.

It's not the laws that are the problem, it's the people.

no its legit, i used coordinates, set weapon timers the works.

WTF are you talking about? There are more than enough gun laws. Instead of ranting why don't you go look up the law regarding guns.

It's the people that are the problem.

Psychological issues are not easy to resolve though.
If anything, there needs to be tighter security on who is given a firearm. There should also be mandatory tests every couple of year I feel.

Well I can assure you that banning guns wouldn't stop it and it would go against our Constitution, so anyone with that mindset needs to go away.
But hey, it's not like the Government has ever turned it's back on our Constitution before...right?

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

I'm fed up arguing against guns being legal on this forum. I don't live in that country, and by now I couldn't care less what happens because, judging by this forum, most citizens want to keep guns simple and easy to get.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself

Something needs to be done, you are correct. Its gotta be cultural. I'm watching CNN, and Dr Drew just hit the nail on the head. The problem isn't guns, its us. All of us.

Think about it, what kind of a society creates people that do this regularly? How many school shootings is this now?

So from the people who are pro gun rights. There response is to blame there person. Blaming isnt going to do anything if you don't actually change something to prevent this happening again. Either that or you concede that this will always happen and you are powerless to stop it

That is absolutely correct. It's also part of our Constitution for us to have guns.

If you need a license to drive a car, I think a license to own a gun isn't too far off.

I don't understand everyone's fear of registrys and whatnot. I know plenty of people that own guns legally who shouldn't even be allowed to own a baseball bat.

I like guns, I own AR-15's, handguns, shotguns, and hell, I'm buying an M&P shield as a new ccw, but I don't see how people can stand back and say nothing needs to be done. I'm definitely confused right now.

Kill the root of the problem. Where do outlaws get their guns?

That is what baffles me how people can sit there and read about what has happened today and say "nothing should be changed"
