Its called America. Land of the 'free' and stupid.
Ah, yes. Taking the time to insult 300 million people is always a good way to go in a thread about the deaths of schoolchildren.

I am assuming direct control.

Guns are not the problem. People are. We live in a society that breeds hate, violence, and action. Something drove that man to kill. Many of you would volunteer to kill him before he killed those kids. We're all too well able to allow violence. We as a society foster this behavior, we let it grow in our schools, we embrace it as adults.

We don't have a gun problem, we have a killing problem. Something needs to be done to prevent people from going psychotic. Most of the time, they weren't born that way but were molded into that form. I'm willing to guarantee something caused the man to go insane, and as a society, we need to prevent that. If we can, maybe we will finally see a decent decline in murders, suicides, and assaults.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

It's easier to change the gun laws than it is to change the people. Stricter gun laws would be a "step" in the right direction.

Do you understand how easy it is to take someone's life? Guns are only used because of their ease of access, not their efficiency. Even if you take away all guns, what's that to stop a kid with a backpack full of homecook boom boom powder from killing 40+ people in the hallway of his school? Taking away guns doesn't mean I can't go out at night and stab someone to death without being caught. Taking away guns is only hiding the problem, covering it up hoping it will just go away. Truth is, people are going insane, and violence is their way of lashing out, they will kill with or without guns. If we can find a way to fix the stress, a way to allow people to vent, a way for someone to release safely then we won't have an issue at all.

No. If people break laws with guns, nothing will change by changing the regulations of guns, they're still gonna break the law anyways. All you're doing is making it harder for normal people to get guns when the people who will get them for illegal activity will get them the same way as any.

This is the oldest and most idiotic argument in the book.

By this logic, murder should be legal since murderers will exist with or without laws.

The point here is to make the America we live in a safer place, and making it so more people have guns is not the way to do so.

F0ck the police

I am totally against gun control except for grenades, mines, rockets, explosives, artillery guns, etc. But I think any crime that isn't stealing a candy bar (very small things) should have the punishment of not being allowed to carry guns of any kind, knives are fine though.
