This blind America hate is the worst thing on these forums.

OP, tragic things like this happen in all first world countries. It is no more common in America than the others. Actually, considering America's massive population, the average crime rate is much lower than other first world countries.

And stop accusing just America about this "loner" stuff. That occurs in all countries. America is by far the most social and friendly country there is. Stop generalizing an entire country from tragic events or from where you live.

You skipped my post Charlie.

Sadly, neither of you seem to understand even what I am saying. You misunderstand and react according to your misunderstanding.
No, we understand, you just don't like the responses you're getting from us.

Don't dodge your responsibility in this. We all have some blood on our hands. We all created a society that churns out the dangerous loner that commits these acts. How is this any of my responsibility? I'm 17 years old and the only people I ever keep in contact with is my family.

I really wish I could put it in terms you would get. I've tried, and apparently failed to do so. By your responses I can see you don't understand. I will continue to try.Just please stop trying.

Do you want me to say you misunderstood as well?

You did.

I've tried as often as I could, and too many on the Flood today are determined to disagree, no matter what.

I will try for you yet again:

Loners commit these acts. We have created a society that creates more loners like this. Look at how many mass shootings have happened just this year. All of the perpetrators were described as loners that acted out.

I am saying we all created the people who do this stuff.

Right there.

Right there is what I am talking about.

Are there people in your school who are weird? Maybe you are the weird one. What if they or you acted out? What if it could have been prevented by simply forming a simple human connection by talking to you or them?

You never hear about the guy with all the friends doing this stuff.

Depending on what you mean by these acts you could be right or entirely wrong.

Because I am an American. I can't go and fix the problems in Afghanistan or China. Their citizens have to look for themselves. A Chinese citizen didn't come over from Beijing to stab American students. No, that was one of ours.

If we want to be Reagan's "Shining City on the Hill" for the rest of the world, we need to fix ourselves.

Something like this can be difficult to pin down, but in most of the sense I agree. Society today can be viewed as... Degrading. The internet age allows for more "loner" lifestyles than ever before as people are becoming more accustomed to sitting behind a computer screen than personal interaction, which has also lent forth a colder, more disconnected society. Hell, to me it's no surprise that suicide rates and mental disorders (like depression) are rising starkly, and as personal observation, many of my friends are seriously depressed, not including myself. I've seen comments from older people describing how in their lives they've never seen such a bitterly divided nation, seen such an odd generation, and how things really seem to be falling apart in a sense. Maybe each generation feels like this in their time, but it ponders some thought.

The issue is huge and broad - the entire fabric of society is the problem, how every issue is handled seems to be dealt with in the wrong way. Media, movies, government, basic living, entitlement, EVERYTHING is essentially needing fixing. It's so massive that it can't likely or ever will be fixed, unless something drastic happens. A movement so large where would people begin?

Personally, I have to say I almost wish 2012 would be something to happen, where aliens or some -blam!- come out of the sky and start blowing -blam!- up as humanity as a whole seems so sinister... Yet maybe that's what humanity would need is an imminent global crisis of some sort to pull together and finally advance, or do the opposite and continue to disappoint, divide, and eat each other like animals.

Hopefully my ramblings make sense.

I go to a private all boy school in Chicago. Are there weird people here? Sure, there are always those "weird" people in school. Am I the weird person? Far from it. The most that's ever happened in my school was a case of blackmail and -blam!- assault between two homo-blam!- freshmen. No one knew what had happened until it was done.

I don't see how me not regularly hanging out with people from my school automatically means I don't have friends.

Quit trying to act like you know everything about me, or anyone else here, Charlie, because whether or not you want to believe it, you don't. I'll go as far as even saying you know just about NOTHING about anyone's personal life here.

And the weird kids are the ones that flip. They may do nothing. They may hurt themselves, or in the worst case, others.

The point is that its the lack of human connection that causes people to flip. Its the one thing they all share. We created a society that revels in the convenience that makes this type of person not just possible, but commonplace.

I never said you don't have experience. But that doesn't mean that you're not ignorant enough to highlight events like these and blame the entire populous on something we really didn't have any control of.

I talk to almost everyone in my school, and if I don't find out about a problem, someone else will and someone will help them, that's how my school works.

And for the last thing you said; so... Instead of going out and actually trying to make a difference, you come here, to the flood, to tell us about how America needs to change. Lol. Tons of emphasis on the lol.

You really haven't if these are the trends you noticed. Especially if you choose to label people that are different from the norm and blame them for all the problems in life. Killers come in all types there have been plenty of cases where some of the most despicable people out there grew up perfectly normal. Even then to say it is the lack of human connection that causes such things to happen is far from true. People have been killing each other for thousands of years because that is who we are it really isn't hard to figure that out. Really you should stop acting like murder is a new thing that has happened due to things like the Internet when that is far from true.

Okay, so say that all countries are having this bad trend of loners, and then mention how you can fix it in America. There's no need to insult America this much. Your same point will be made exactly, so why not change it to not be so offensive?

I don't understand why you keep trying to say it's 300 million peoples fault. Can we fix this if we all work together? Yes. Does that mean we're all equally responsible for the sociopaths that develop in our society, probably not.

The development of sociopaths is both a genetic thing and environmental. You want to fix things? Go to poverty stricken areas and start there.
