OK, easy:
Illegal or not, people are going to get guns. Drugs are illegal and yet more people die from overdoses than school shootings. No one is up in arms and looking for solutions to that, are they?
Legal or illegal the problem will persist.Yes, criminals will still get guns, but it'll be a very rare and small amount. I rather have only %1 (or less) of American's own guns, then knowing when I walk around the streets that %50 (or more?) of all American's own guns.
50%? Where did you get that statistic from? And yes, fewer people will have guns. But those who are filled with such hate they are going to kill people will still get their guns.
School shootings and mass murders will not decrease in number with the 2nd Amendment revoked.
You realize you are implying the average gun owner is walking around and up and decides to shoot up a school.Haha I really pulled those numbers out of thin air, both of them, hence the (... ?).
I don't know the exact number of households that own a gun in America, but if I remember, someone made a thread earlier this year about how guns sales are really high this year according to past years?
Also, yes it would decrease the number of school shootings. Considering a good amount of school shootings are from stressed out Teens, who has EASY access to a weapon (be it from home and already owning one, to even buying one) I really, really doubt an angry 16 year old has the resources and connection to go to the black market, and buy a gun, or have one custom made.
Nor does the average person. Sure, shootings and deaths would still happen, but you can not say that they will not decrease when guns are so limited and hard to get.
