There were hardly any of these shooting in the 1920s.

You don't know that, you couldn't get the information as easily back then.

I think the news would have brought it up. I think we can agree that werenot events like columbine and today. This has happened a lot more in the last 10 years. There is a missing variable.

The way I see it, every person in America who owns a gun is at fault for these atrocities that are committed involving firearms and they should be fined every time something like this happens because they are funding the arms industry.
That has to be the most illogical thing that I have ever read...

Nope, if everybody stopped buying guns then there wouldn't be as many for sale therefore less gun crime, that is amazing logic.
In what world do you think that will happen? People like me have licenses to carry them in public. I am TRAINED on how and when to use it. It is a last resort defense for my family and myself should the need come. Cops will not ge t there in time, I would need it right then and now. It is something I will never give up.

Well done you just ignored my argument.

Whether you like it or not you are partly responsible.

Lol.

Looks like somebody didn't pay attention in History class about organized crime during the 1920s because of Prohibition.

A family died in a fire because their Christmas tree caught fire. Fine all people who buy Christmas trees.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

I go target shooting almost every week.
Guns are a good investment.
What I do with my money is my business.
I'm not hurting anyone.
So, why should I change the way I live just to make you feel better?

Uhh no I did not. Hence the "in what world do you think that will happen?" You seriously think that people will just stop buying one day? You have no idea what you are talking about.

And in exactly what way am I responsible? I am not some nut job who thinks it is ok to go and kill Children. That is disgusting.

No, I don't want to join your group/clan/team/community.

I refuse.

Lol at the OP implying all gun owners want to kill civilians.

But on a serious note, I cannot express how deeply cut to the heart I am about this situation. The past 4 years has deeply rattled my belief on guns and what should be done to regulate them. These recent incidents are just kind of throwing me out in the middle here without any defense.

All I can say is that if guns were illegal, people who want to go on a rampage will find a gun one way or another. There's this thing called a black market you know.

If you ban them, you will just take them away from law abiding citizens. Criminals will be the only ones owning them, because they do have a terrible tendency to disregard the law.

Whats the difference? People still were getting killed. Does it matter where they get shot at? No, it doesn't.

If we ban guns then we ban anything and everything that can harm a person.

What would have prevented him from walking in there with a steak knife and stabbing all of those kids?

No matter how sick it sounds guns make people's death 10xmore painless then anything else...

All knife owners should be criminally charged whenever someone stabs a person. All those butter knives you've got in the kitchen? Yep, you're responsible for every single murder that has ever happened involving knives.

/-blam!- logic

Exactly, so if I throw away all my guns you get to throw away all your knives, forks, screwdrivers etc

The difference is organized crime and tragedies like these are huge. Yes there have always been gang crimes. My point was there were less types of these actions. Now it happens twice a year so there is a missing variable. The people. What makes these people want to do this? You can cause just enough trouble with a van full of fuel and fertilizer like Oklahoma City.

The Flood is just this awesome :D

The problem isn't guns, it's the people holding them. If we had some kind of very thorough mental stability tests that are periodically done we could stop a lot of killings. We don't need more gun control, we need less stupid people owning them.
