Okay, so I'm writing a 3 act dramatic Machinima series and I'm already getting really into the mythos of the world that I'm creating for it, but I've run into a dilemma, and I need some help. For the setting I'm going for, Halo 3's maps are practically perfect, whereas Reach and Halo 4's are very lacking. True, I could create maps for it, but seeing as the first two acts take place inside of a facility that's definitely not preferable. The Halo 3 maps I'd use would be Cold Storage, Construct, Citadel, Avalanche, Epitaph, and Guardian. The Halo Reach maps I'd use would be pretty much all Forge maps, but the color palette would work better. The Halo 4 maps I'd use would be about 90% forge maps on Impact and 10% Vortex and Meltdown. The obvious choice as far as which one I have the most to work with is pretty clear, I'm just worried that this project will be ignored if I make it in Halo 3. So I ask you, which should I make this series in?

When deciding which game you're going to use, you have to think about more than just the maps you want the machinima set in. What kind of visuals do you want? Which game mechanics will you be using to help you tell your story? Will the variety in the armor customization of one game over the other be better for your characters? Will you be using sections from Campaign or Firefight as well as multiplayer?
Armor customization isn't a big deal, because of the nature of the show pretty much all of the main characters are going to have the same set of armor. Game mechanics are pretty basic, the ability to create a green screen on Guardian will come in handy, but you can do that in Halo 4 as well, and a little bit better. Multiplayer only, visuals tie in with the maps I've selected, I selected them for their visual style.
