Rock bottom is no place to set up camp. Especially in the dark.

I know it's very easy to politicize the recent shooting in Connecticut... But in all honesty, we should all stop arguing. Here we should all act as brothers. We all share the same view; The shooting is a tragedy. So please, arguing over gun control will not help anybody pass a law for or against it. It will do nothing. Don't stress yourself out over it by arguing over the internet.

If you're a praying man, pray. If you're not, then keep the families affected by this terrible incident in your thoughts.

Try to be at peace for today, and take a few moments to realize what we're all lucky to have.

Maybe we should all stop arguing and actually work towards some positive change. No sense in being mad at each other.

Without a sign, his sword the brave man draws, and asks no omen but his country's cause

The arguing distracts people from the viciousness of the attack.

They're just coping with stress.

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

But anyone who doesn't argue with each other over opinions isn't American!

If we ignore the necessity for improvements towards gun regulation and mental health treatment, then shootings like this will keep happening.

I would much rather ensure that this happens less frequently rather than mourning about it in a non-productive way.

Ok what do you propose we do in order to have a positive change?

I think we need to have an honest national discussion about mental health and accessibility to care. Secondly, we need to write our representatives to make our voices heard about how we feel about firearms, no matter which side you're on.

We can ban 4Loko in 3 weeks, but we can't talk about preventing mass murder? Seems silly to me.

Now is the perfect time to speak of this tragedy and get people to take action to prevent further tragedy. It's common sense.

What you are recommending (ignoring the issue) will solve nothing and is a completely irresponsible way of dealing.

Fixed.

I'm not speaking for anyone else, but I thought that the fact that the shooting is a tragedy and we're extremely lucky it doesn't happen more often was already known to everyone here. It's certainly a given for me, and I think this is a great time to have this discussion precisely because this tragedy has made people think about the issue. I just wish people didn't devolve into flinging insults so fast.
