Subject: Do you think in the same language you speak?

OMGZZ!!!!!!

"It's Afghanistanimation!"

Since there are many people here that are bi lingual. When it comes down to your thoughts, do you think with the primary language that you speak in your country?

Like you speak French and English, but your thoughts are in French. I only speak English and a little Spanish so I cant really be reliable for this.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

Yes, It'd be odd to do so if I didn't.

I mostly think in Swedish but I occasionally think in English when I'm in an English speaking environment such as this forum.

I went to Google and typed in "fat people keyboards."
All I saw pretty much was an advice column and fat jokes. :(
I do not think they make them.

Well..

Depends. Some days, it'll be in what my mind thinks a German speaking English may sound like, and others I'll be hearing my thoughts come out in Italian.

  • 12.14.2012 5:20 PM PDT

That would be so confusing thinking in a different language.

  • 12.14.2012 5:20 PM PDT

*MEAN ALERT*.... AHHHHHH ohhhhaahahhahhhh blarg.

Mind blown. Then though it takes so long to become fluent in a second language, most if they spoke in their second language would find themselves thinking and then translating.

it's just me against the world

Myself being fully bi-lingual in Spanish, and English. I think in English, but I have my moments when I can think in Spanish; Although, because I am more fluent in English than Spanish. I notice I can only think in Spanish as long as it's more simple thinking. You think in the language you know more of, so you can think about more complex concepts.

So if I were to learn Italian and speak it over and over without deviation for an extended period of time to the point that I become very fluent in it. It can overtake my English thoughts? Mother of God....

In my everyday life, I speak English.
At home, I speak Polish.
In my thoughts, I speak English most of the time.
