Okay, HERE is the correct place.
Right-
Now.
A large number of threads were locked in the flood forum that discussed the gun shooting and firearms laws.
However I don't like the ambiguity here.
This is also political discussion, I believe. It is in response to the gun shooting, however a bit skewered. It also definitely has SOME sort of political discussion. Nations are certainly political.
We all see some ambiguity here, but I believe there definitely is some contradiction.

Good job you saw it, I'm out of cookies so you'll have to pat yourself on the back for going to the flood, you really didn't prove anything.
Now.. Where were we?
Right!
Let us smooth the inconsistencies.
I believe that thread constitutes political discussion and should not be exempted.

There is no inconsistency. Politics is the theory and practice of governing a country, including and especially discussions about legislative and executive actions.
Taking pride in where you're from may be slightly related, but you can't say that anything containing the name of a country is automatically "political discussion."
Nor is it political because it relates to the school shooting. That was a non-political event and this discussion, arising from it, has nothing to do with politics.
I won't be banned for arguing right?
So.
You do use the definition of politics to your advantage, but that thread can ONLY lead to and warrant political discussion, if the comments are examined. Threads are locked not just because the OP was bad, but because of the posts that follow it. If people start posting links to meatspin and discuss illegal content and the OP was only mentioning ideas that would not be met with a lock, the comments in that case would be why the thread should be locked. Not meaning that threads about 'merica should be locked, but that when comments grow too political, the thread is political.
If you look at the comments, I believe it falls under the category of political discussion.
