Subject: My Xbox account has been suspended.. Now I can't access it anym...

I don't know where else to turn to flood. I've been trying to sort this out for 4 hours.

It started when I was playing Minecraft. Usual hanging out with my friends building stuff. Suddenly I lagged out of the party.. they invited me back no big deal. The accept invite option was grayed out.. and it said xbox live parties were blocked. I just decided to restart my xbox. This is where the real -blam!- started. It signed me in w/o xbox live and I tried to connect.. it said my account was suspended until I updated my payment option.

There is an option to update my payment straight on the dashboard but when I clicked on it I get an infinite swirly loading sign that doesn't go anywhere. It also said I can go to xbox.com/account. When I try to access that page it makes me log in and I had to get a code from an email I haven't used in 4 years... which took me another 50 minutes because I had to go through ten tons of paperwork in my box which contains all of my passwords and such to reset it. I get the code. Go to code input and... [picture removed for security risk sorry]. I get to a screen that tells me "uh-oh! that shouldn't have happened! You have found a glitch in the system!"

Now whenever I log into my account I go straight to this screen. I cannot update my payment information like I said at the beginning of the OP. I am extremely pissed off that my Friday night has to be ruined by this. Microsoft's support line is probably the last thing I want to do because I always end up on hold for 3 hours at a time. Has anyone ever had to deal with this?

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

I'm not sure what you should do, but I would suggest contacting support by some means.

Also, you should remove that picture, as someone could potentially use those codes to pretend they own the account. I've heard of support falling for dumber stuff.

You can actually just replace the payment option on xbox.com, I too was suspended years ago for the very same reason. It was totally my fault though for not swapping payment methods before terminating the card.

It's not letting me access the payment method page it goes straight to an error screen like I shouldn't have been able to access that part of the site.

This isn't working either it goes straight to the error screen.. the entire site is blocked when I'm logged in.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

May I recommend calling consumer support? I had a similar incident happen to me a few months back, and the whole issue was sorted out in under an hour.

Digging Foxholes by Profession
Accept No Substitutes

I don't know if this will actually help, but...

Try calling the support line and (if they have one of those automated voice-input things) say the word "Shibboleet".

Bonus points if you get the XKCD reference, but I tried this as a last-ditch on the phone with AT&T, and it actually worked. Some of the voice-rec programs actually have that word included as a command to take you directly to a customer service representative.

The problem is, I doubt this will get you past the three hours worth of other people waiting in line.

Well it does sound about the same as the 7000 year long ban... something that isn't likely to happen anytime soon. I'm on the support line now listening to horrible music.. I'm just hoping they can get this sorted out. I don't understand how changing my credit card info will get me suspended...

Yeah, that's only *slightly* creepy...

I'm glad some people enjoyed it though! It means I didn't waste all that time searching my computer for it for nothing!

I had that happen with an old credit card that expired. I had to clear it up with support.

Xbox live support is grossly incompetent. I once had a problem with a prepaid MS point card and the agent told me I cold get another card from Sony.
