I'm yet to see anything that equals the Q so far, including the Time Lords and the Ellimist.

What about the Ancients from Star Gate SG-1? Do they have limitless power as well, or is is it just nearly limited. A number of things leave me thinking they aren't quite omnipotent, but I'm not sure.

Galactus is an omnipotent mass of cosmic energy from a previous universe...and the Celestials make him look like a playground bully by comparison.

There's not a great many things that could fight even a single Celestial. And the number of things that could fight the entire race could be counted on your fingers.

Probably the Tyranids.

Two Hive Fleets entering the galaxy, and not even the Orks, Speehs Mahreens, Eldar, and Tau can stop them.

Chaos is just lulz.

My name is from Star Wars. Now you know.

Feel free to follow me on my twitter and stalk me.

The Ancients from Farscape.

  • 12.14.2012 10:27 PM PDT

Cole

Flood or maybe Necromorphs. Xenomorphs could be deadly as hell too.

  • 12.14.2012 10:28 PM PDT

I would say The Overmind, from Childhood´s End by Arthur C. Clark

None of those are anywhere near the strongest, or even middle-tier.

I wonder if the Necrons could take the Tyranids?

Galactus is not quite omnipotent, though very close. He still must consume to survive and maintain his state. He cannot be omnipresent. He needs minions to carry out tasks for him. The scope of his and the Celestials' power is more comparable to the Greek gods'.

By comparison, Q understands and exists throughout all of space and time and can control all of space and time without limitation by the laws of physics. The universe actually seems somewhat unimportant to Q. Q is almost God, so I'm not sure they should even really count.

They can, and quite easily so, but 'Nids tend to avoid the 'Crons due to the massive losses they will take and the lack of any organic materials from the Necrontyr.

That's an interesting one. I'm not sure how to really classify it.

Yes, I'm well aware that the word 'Timelords' has both 'Time' and 'Lords' in it. What's your point?

It's not like they can freeze time at will and move inside the fabric of space.

I hear they can, actually. But I have no sources for that. Maybe Scoop does.

Sustained time fields are a thing, yes. And the TARDIS basically does the whole "moving throughout all of space" thing.

Well yeah, but they're inside the TARDIS. Ellimist will just move through the fabric, unseen and push them into some destructive force or throw a sun at them.

Sure, Time Travel is cool and all, but it's hardly useful if there isn't anything you can do with it. Even if they knew the exact time and place to go back in time to kill him, he'd just follow them through or close the space-time tunnel thing.

Dammit, I forgot about Necrons.

Well, changing money to Necrons. Just don't wake them up and we'll be fine.

I hope you're not serious. Even the precursors are mid-tier at best.

I don't know what's confusing, but ok. I'd really recommend reading The Ellimist chronicles to understand what I'm on about.

I'll give it a shot. Really, my only experience with the Ellimist was the five seconds it took to grab that quote from Wikipedia.

Can we even quantify the precursors? All we know of them are some ruins that were invincible to non-atomic level destruction.

It's a'me, Sesto

The race I just created, the Jadakdas. They can just think the word "win" and then all of their enemies instantly die, no matter where they are in the universe or timeline. They also are invincible.

...comparing fictional universes is dumb. The winner is the universe in which the creators decided to make their creations incredibly OP.

It is fairly confusing at times, so you may need to ask me what the hell is going on.

Basically it's the story of an average alien guy (low tier species in terms of this thread) that becomes incredibly powerful over time and how he deals with all his losses, while still trying to maintain who he once was.

I'll bookmark it for later, thanks. Saves me the trouble of having to visit the library.

To be perfectly fair. Everything in the 40k universe is pretty balanced. Each faction has their own strenghts and weaknesses.

For orks, it's numbers, but lack of coherent thought
Space Marines are walking tanks, but few in number.
Guardsmen are numerous, but cowardly.
Eldar are advanced, but pretty weak in strength
Chaos is well, Chaos.

Only two really OP factions are Tyranids, who in the end just want to eat things, and Necrons who just want everyone to shut the -blam!- up so they can sleep.
