Never make me angry. I am a Hitman and I can easily find you and take you out.

At least I would have lived long enough to see The Hobbit.

That's true. But what if there's gonna be a The Hobbit 2?

Or if more people had guns in public no one would want to risk committing a crime because they know it would be useless when we can actually defend ourselves.
What was the logic that's always used? Oh yeah. "A person is going to find a way to kill another person if they really want to, regardless of whatever gets in his way."

If every single person had a gun, it'd be -blam!- anarchy.

What would be wrong with anarchy? If everyone were armed it'd be really peaceful.

No way man.

How?

There are a lot of crazy weird people who would just shoot. And some annoying kids could shoot everything they see and cause accidents. Woman that hate eachother in a mall will have a gun war in the mall.

And what has been said about "People will think twice before shooting someone because now they can defend themselfs."

Ever heard about stealth or surprises? Someone can just aim in the back of your head without you knowing it and BAM he can shoot you and you'd be dead. No chance of defending yourself.

I think our current government is causing a lot of the harm, we'd be far better off without them.

Those crazy weird people are already shooting people with guns they did not obtain legally. What would suddenly cause a surge in violence? I don't understand. The only thing that would happen is we could actually defend ourselves, and more responsible citizens could police the world.

Dude, we're talking about everyone carrying guns now. everyone.

It'd be a mess I think. I can't know, it all could turn out well too. It's just not going to happen I think.

Also, I think it would be nice to see what happens if there wouldn't be a government anymore.

What's wrong with anarchy?

Are you familiar with the term 'gang war'?

You realise with no one in control there is no one to stop these gang wars?

As for the peaceful part:

Crazy suicidal man starts shooting. Everybody shoots back. People nearby get stuck in the crossfire and start shooting wildly. A massive firefight breaks out with people shooting at everyone. Chaos. Lot's of people die, people who were just minding their business.

That's just one situation.

Everybody has a Constitutional right to own a gun. Specifically, a muzzle-loading musket that fires a single shot and takes 30 seconds to reload. You can hide one in your pocket, if your pocket is 4 feet long.
Despite the fact that not everybody is an American, I'll still address your horrible fallacy. The Constitution, more specifically the Second Amendment, was written with the intent of arming the populations with the standard-issue infantry weapons of the day, primarily for self and national defense. If you were ever called upon to serve, you were expected to provide your own weapon in the militia. If our nation was ever under attack, as it was during the Revolutionary War, which most assuredly played a part in what found its way into the Constitution, I dare say you should have your own firearm.

You honestly think current society would reduce to gang war simply because government was dismantled? HAHA! The Government is our largest gang. What's stopping the gang wars now? Responsible citizens that would still be here to stop it in an anarchy society.

Or it's controlled by a responsible citizen with a good shot and many deaths are prevented. The fact is it would deter a lot of people from committing crimes in the first place.

In a sense, yes. I would say, rather, that the purpose was to give us the ability to protect ourself from those whom we might need protection.

Last I checked your current society is already in the midst of several large gang wars.

Your government goes away and the Mexican Cartels will move in. Just watch.

Your ideal 'responsible citizen' is just a normal person, and any normal person is just as easily corruptible by hate and anger and greed as the next normal person.

You seem to have a naive view that there are a lot more good people than bad, when in fact your ideal 'responsible citizen' is a very, very rare thing.

I would go far as to say there is no such thing.

How would the cartels move in if drugs were legal? HAHAHA! I've already stated most of the gun crime here is due to our horrible drug laws, and you're wrong, most people are in fact good, just lazy. Now it really is time for bed.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

OP, you up for some witch hunting?

"Before you insult someone, try walking a mile in their shoes. This way, when you insult them, you are a mile away and have their shoes."

Yes, because the constitution, an almost 300 year old document, has more validity than modern thinking.

The cartels want money and power.

In America there is a lot of money, and a lot of power. The U.S. Government is keeping the Cartels out as best as it can. Remove the U.S. Government, and the Cartels have no barrier.

They move in, selling drugs, guns, pirated DVDs, alcohol, anything. They see competition and they will forcefully remove it. They see a threat to their organisation and they will remove it.

The cartels will want to exercise their power. They will kidnap women and shoot their husbands and fathers. They will kidnap whoever they want because their guns are bigger and there are a lot of them. They're going to piss on those responsible citizens of yours.

There could be any number of criminal organisation that would rise from a lack of government and free guns. Groups will take over because people want power. Everybody wants power, and the strong will kill the weak.

Since you love history so much, you only need to look back at pre-governmental history. Your country will, essentially, become a nation of associated tribes warring with each other.

The evil in this world is far more numerable than the good, and the good can always turn. Because people love power, and love to exercise power.

Bullies exist. Not just in adolescence but into adulthood as well. "I'm strong, you're weak. There's nothing you can do about it, that's why I'm doing this. What, you gonna shoot me? I have my boys to back me up. Suck my dick or I'll kill you."

Oh yeah, you'll have your heroes, but how long will they survive. They're a threat to the strong, and the strong want to remove all threats to their power. They'll find your hero and they'll kill him.

The evil will take your weapons and they'll put you under their boot. You can't fight it. They'll kill you.

A normal person is confronted with this. The cartels are moving in. He has three choices. He can fight, he can give up and try to live his life as best he can, or he can join them.

If he fights, he is fighting a war against an army. He will most likely die. If he gives up, he's looking at a life in constant fear of his new Mexican Overlords. If he joins them, he will have money, women, drugs, anything.

Guess what normal person picks.

This isn't mentioning any foreign governments deciding to come in and take over. Iran could just sail their navy over and take over, or perhaps Britain does in the aim of the greater good and all your freedoms get destroyed in the face of a British society.

Or let's say your military still exists after the government is gone. They become the new government. And now they have absolute control of three hundred million people. Conscripts, conscripts everywhere. You'll have a police state while your military dictator takes all the wealth and power and gives it to the military, leaving nothing for the normal person. And they dictator wants more and invades other countries, but why send his men to do the fighting. Just take any one of the three hundred million people to fight for him.

not when you look at the homicide rate we're tied with Austria and the particularly high suicide rate can quite easily be attributed with the terrible economy
Australia has as many people murdered by firearm a year as America does?

As an Australian, I need to ask you: WUT?
AUSTRIA!!! not Australia

Is this some sort of joke? Have you even ever looked at Austria's statistics or are you just making -blam!- up now?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Austria's intentional homicide rate: 0.6
Austria's suicide rate: 12.8

US intentional homicide rate: 4.2
US suicide rate: 12.0
