Are you actually blaming the problem on guns instead of the person's mental state? You are an idiot and fearing guns is irrational. This would have happened if guns were banned and could have easily been prevented if there weren't such harsh gun laws and a responsible citizen with a gun had been there to stop the person. A gun can just as easily be used to protect and save just as much as used irresponsibly and to kill. It's the person, not the tool. Why is it when states make gun laws more harsh gun crimes increase? Educate yourself and stop associating blame naively and incorrectly.
Yeah... Like everyone is going to be carrying around their guns at all times.
Do you not understand that people can become mentally ill? So after they obtain their gun, easily, a few years later they can go on a killing frenzy. It doesn't work that way. Not all people would have a clue how to obtain guns illegally. Therefore, people'd be more secure.
You can't just get rid of the problem by giving people more guns. I'd hate to live in that society. Constant tension and fear.
But, the US has gone too far. It's proven effective in other countries but that's because they didn't implement the law too late.
I do, and you only should if you're comfortable with doing so, safe and responsible.
There are a lot of mentally disturbed people. And? They're dangerous no matter the circumstances and need help, simply banning guns because SOME people misuse them is irrational.
I never implied that, but taking guns away also won't help. Education and readiness is key.
Proven effective? Hardly, often times lower gun violence is associated with much higher crime rates across the board, stabbings especially. The U.S. is an exception because of our borders and horrible drug laws.
It has proven effective. Look at this list. Look at the United Kingdom and then look at the United States. And then look up the population of the United Kingdom, and then come back and tell me gun laws haven't proven effective.
Did you not read my exception? They can not be compared and you're missing MANY variables.
This thread is done. I'm leaving it with this...
When D.C. and Chicago struck down harsh gun laws crime decreased, murder rates decreased and GUN CRIMES decreased.
