They say that an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Good thing justice is blind.

Eveeyone says "Joker was a force of nature and was a better developed character!" How? Because I don't think those people know what character development is if they think that Bane was less developed than Joker. Joker was just a flat character. Sure he had great moments but Bane made me feel bad for him at the end, despite all the people he's killed up till that point. Also, Bane damaged Gotham far beyond what Joker did.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

I liked both characters for different reasons.

Good point OP.

I haven't seen TDKR, but I might still say the Joker. He was an absolute psychopath, he fitted in beaufifully with the film. Opinions can change though, still need to watch TDKR.

They were both a joy to watch.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I actually preferred Bane also, I loved the way that the movie made me like him towards the end.

Thats why.

I think what most people find appealing about Joker is that he's so beautifully psychotic and unpredictable. He's the complete opposite to Batman's character. A ying to his yang. The line "when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" could not be more true.

Most people find Bane less appealing is because they compare him to Joker too much. They're completely different types of villains. Bane is more of a devout disciple type of character. Religiously carrying out his plans, in order to avenge Ras' death. With extreme efficiency. That's what makes him dangerous, and a good villain.

While Joker is more of a wild card. Doing what he wants when he wants, regardless of the repercussions because of his fascination of chaos.

People need to stop comparing them, as they're both unique villains in their own way.

"Right now it is raining methane on Titan. The planet Uranus is, hilariously, orbiting the sun sideways while Venus spins backwards. We sit here on a planet marked with collisions, rocked by earthquakes, shaken by storms. A planet doomed to be fried in radiation as its magnetic fields collapse, until the sun grows and leaves nothing of the earth but dust. Here we sit, glasses on our noses, inhalers in our pockets, braces on our teeth, and we say "Behold the perfect ORDER of it all!""

Exactly. The Joker is a much more psychological threat to Batman, and Bane is more of a physical threat.

Hell, in the Joker's and Batman's final confrontation, those two dogs did more harm than the Joker himself did.

I don't want to start another account for a digital number that has no true value in ten years.

The Joker was a very dark character. He used very twisted ways to mess with people and kill some. He had no clear intentions in his actions "Some people just want to watch the world burn." From the movie wise he had great dialogue and was really done well, probably one of the best acting jobs in quite some time.

Two totally different characters. They are uncomparable.

Nolan or the comics? Never liked Nolan's batman characters as batman characters.
