Subject: Why is CoD called "Bad" so much on this forum?

Because they know its better than Halo and are jealous of its success.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. The general consensus here is that Call of Duty is an atrocity to the gaming industry. If you disagree, you're likely a "troll".

The last legitimately "bad" CoD game was the FIRST one

CoD 1 and 2 were the only good ones.

  • 12.15.2012 8:54 AM PDT

I like your list but people are going to stick to their opinions and CoD isn't bad it's mediocre. Bad is like Duke Nukem Forever, CoD is mediocre not bad...

I honestly have no idea. Probably due to a large amount of bias. I think it is a pretty fun game. Sure, the MM is predictable sometimes, but in over 5 years of playing COD MM I have never once noticed two matches that had identical gameplay.

Just my two cents.

I dont think it is bad, i dont like it but that is my personal preference. The only reason i hate it though is because every damn fps coming out is trying to emulate it and i hate cod style multiplayer.

Ignore my gamertag. It's actually Dragonzzilla.

I just don't find it fun or balanced (like seriously, spawn with rocket launchers and sniper rifles?) and I'm slightly agitated that it has affected the Gaming World so much, its popularity is making its mechanics seep into other games.

Take a look at Gears of War: Judgment. You can spawn with a 15-shot rifle that can pop heads in 1 shot; Down But Not Out (Along with Executions!) was taken out; they even took out the Locust! After years of saying that a Pendulum Wars Gears of War game wouldn't work because it wouldn't be Gears without the Locust, they removed them all. All we have now is red and blue COG teams.

I came to dislike CoD after buying and playing MW2. I just stopped there.

I personally only enjoyed the Modern Warfare series, CoD 4 being the gem of that.

I like CoD, but sometimes it's almost too much of a good thing. They make a new game every year...It's not as special that way.

Call of duty isn't bad, it's just overpriced. They all follow the same formula.

Some terrorist attacks, some conspiracies, some cover ups, an out of place snowy level, a jungle level, you take down a helicopter, see some war crimes, the main character dies once or twice. It was fine when they did it for the first time in cod4, but when you follow the exact same formula (more or less) for going on 5 years, you've got a problem.

I would happily pay 40 bucks for a game that recycles as much content is call of duty, but never 60. I heard activision actually wanted to charge $80 for CoD Blops 2, but Microsoft wouldn't let them.

The graphics? Well...

Equip the same gun and throw a smoke grenade at your feet in mw2 and mw3, compare. Quite literally the only difference is that the cod mw3 smoke is a bit grayer. Also, the color palette in call of duty is very dull in most levels.

The gameplay being bad isn't really debatable. Extremely fast kill times don't make for very good gameplay in a multiplayer shooter. It turns it into a game of "whoever sees the other person first wins unless you're absolutely terrible at aiming."

Everything else about the game is just generic and immemorable, from the soundtrack to the storyline.

The problem with CoD isn't that it's the same game every time. It's that it's the same bad game every time.

I might as well say it right here. Menendez was a better villain than the Didact.

Damn straight.

It's ok game. The reason why it's only ok, and not great is because of a few reasons. First of all, the hit detection is AWFUL and that largely affects the game. The lack of dedicated servers, the companies that make CoD are probably rich as hell. If they fixed that I'd love this game.

  • 12.15.2012 4:23 PM PDT

For some people, they're still butthurt that CoD took away the FPS crown from Halo.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

I don't really like too many competitive military shooters except Nuclear Dawn, but that game has longer killtimes, some strafing, and every class plays waaaay differently. It's also entirely objective focused with ACTUAL maps, unlike the wide open fields of Arma and Battlefield.

One of the reasons I like CoD over Halo is because of CoD's 60 FPS. It just makes everything much more fluid and natural than the choppy 30 FPS.

  • 12.15.2012 4:57 PM PDT

Death to rank junkies.

I wouldn't say that it's bad. It's just released every year with a different coat of paint. New CoD games don't bring anything new to the table.

That, and every other developer is trying to copy it.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

The multiplayer has always been a steaming pile of -blam!-.

1-3 and (I guess) BLOPS 1-2 had good campaigns.

Zombies is entertaining.
