Shakes Magic 8 Ball

Tell me if I'm reading this right. Because I have a FOID card, I'm able to buy a fanny pack that allows me to carry around a gun (Unloaded and no ammunition in it{Separated from the gun, allowed to carry ammo in mags}) and that's all there is to conceal and carry in Illinois?

Would the pouches on this be considered... Fanny pack?

Did you really ask us if something called a "shoulder bag" is the same thing as a fanny pack? Also haha, you're looking at shoulder bags. Perhaps you should take your purse off and invest in a real fanny pack.

no its legit, i used coordinates, set weapon timers the works.

If I were to describe that to someone, I'd call it a "goth woman's cargo vest."

Obviously it's not the same thing as a fanny pack you naive twat. Don't even bother returning to reply, you returning would only show that you're out to irritate somebody. Which is childish, now go play with your toy box and wait until I tell your parents how disrespectful you've been.

Then we'll see who wears the fanny pack for the rest of their lives.

Mine is only a loop hole to hold a firearm, yours will be to harbor your wallet and cellphone from people in suburbia.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Most waist-packs of sufficient size/reinforcement to allow for carry tend to scream "gun" to my eyes. There is almost always an "odd look" to then that makes me pay closer attention and eventually tag the person as carrying.

IWB with proper cover, or failing that, something like Thunderwear, waistbands, or concealment t-shirts are usually harder for me to spot.

Fanny packs are a fashion minefield (for many people) and trying to combine that trickiness with CCW usually (in my experience) ends up making the CCW ever more glaringly obvious.

OT: those vests? Again more fashion than function. I am a fan of a holster designed to carry concealed, not a bit of clothing where a pocket is being borrowed for the task of carry and concealment. If it is fashionable, it usually wants to be seen. If it is concealment-wear, it is designed and intended to blend and not be noticed as well as being intended and structured for the stress and weight of the weapon.

Unfortunately in Illinois, that is the only way for me to carry at the moment. I can't just keep it in one of those conceal vests that you're fond of.

I'm able to carry the gun in a case without any ammunition in it and keeping the mags out of it. Until desired use. I'd only assume that they'd start to actually just allow conceal and carry like the other states.

But for now, a fanny pack looks like a huge deal to us.

"You are the last of your kind: bred for combat, built for war. You're the master of any weapon, pilot of any vehicle, and fear no enemy"

I thought Illinois was holding out on Conceal carry?

If they aren't, then go ahead and ditch the fanny. It would just feel awkward.

Also, that is an article from 2009, which I would be hesitant to use as a basis for planning a concealment plan. If the state that you reside in has not explicitly stated "you may do this, but not that", then I would be careful, VERY careful. Being a test case is not a good place to be, especially when you are trying to show that law-abiding CCW is for people who follow the law, not break/skirt it.

If the state is so restrictive on CCW that even a potential "loophole" requires a separate pouch/container for the firearm and the ammunition, then it would appear clear to me that you should wait/lobby for a more reasonable/practical solution within the law.

Illinois is going to start issuing CCW permits sometime early next year. Just wait a few months.

Even if they're "may issue" and not "shall issue" (which seems likely), you can probably still get one because of the nature of your job.

I'll just leave you mature gentlemen, who respond calmly and non-emotionally to simple wordplay to yourselves. And to think they let people with that sort of temper own guns.

That's a really nice threat you just made. That's either a) "your life will be shorter than mine" or b) "you'd better get a CCW because I'm out there." What are you going to do if someone tells you you're wearing a goth woman's vest in real life, put 2 in their head? You are the poster(hahaha word play, threaten me some more) child of gun bans.

And finally, I will tell my mother about this thread when I call her later today, and she will no doubt laugh.
