I'm pretty sure overheating is the issue. I put in a new card and power supply, and when I run an intensive game like Red Orchestra 2, after about ten minutes my screen shuts off, reads "no signal", and doesn't turn back on. A couple times, the whole system restarts.

I set up a fan behind my computer to blow into the holes in the back, but that doesn't seem to be enough. What should I do?

Here's your sign

If you never turn it on, it will never overheat.

Link or it didn't happen.

Putting a fan behind it could be a bad idea, depending on the direction of air flow. I suggest you take the time to see where the air is flowing through your computer and see where you could add more fans. Fans are very cheap, so just go order some and they should help quite a bit.

Does your case have good airflow?

Get a better case, as it seems like the one you have has poor airflow. Also, blowing air into the case might be counter-productive to the fans inside the case; you're just forcing the hot air to recirculate.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Open up the case, see what fan(s) you currently have for airflow, make sure that they are working properly.

If they are not, or if your case has the mounting points for additional fan(s), then consider replacing/upgrading your cooling device(s) in order to get maximum airflow within and through your case.

Also, check to see that you don't have one fan pushing and another pulling against it.

Water cooling?
Nah, get new fans.

Thanks for reading my signature!

You could have just bought a crap power supply that cuts out instead of being able to give whats advertised. If it were overheating the screen would die and all the fans in the system would spin to 100%.

Does your case have good airflow?
It's very cramped, so I'll assume no.

BTW, I think the only fans in my computer are the CPU fan and my GPU fan.

Install additional fans/better fans or a water cooling unit. Don't shortcut and -blam!- with the BIOS or put a household fan to it, that's retarded. Just invest the extra money and fix up the ventilation and cooling unit.

There's your problem.

Probably need to check your current fans, clean them or buy new ones if you've put in a new GPU etc.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3

Dry ice, and a fan. Homemade liquid cooling.

oh sorry, and keep the rig open.

If it is a laptop, you need to make sure it is on a hard surface and not a bed unless you have gosu fans inside that thing. My ACER runs games on my bed no problem without overheating, but it is an anomaly.
