Think of it as a taste for food. Some people may think that pizza is the best tasting food in the world, while others may hate it. Same goes for music. I do like The Beatles more than 1D but that's just my opinion. Others may think the Beatles sound awful and their lyrics are dumb.

Know who would say that? Casuals. And their opinions are invalid.
At least make your trolling interesting or clever.

>different opinion
>must be trolling

k.
It's not the fact that you have a different opinion that makes people think you're trolling, it's that you're completely unwilling to move your stance from one of complete idiocy, narrow mindedness and conceitedness when presented with opposing views, as well as being downright insulting and baiting volatile returns.

Troll?

  • 12.15.2012 10:13 AM PDT

My honor student can beat up your honor student.

The only people I dislike more than hipsters, are elitist hipsters. No matter how hard you strive for "enlightenment," your awful indie bands will never be good in the eyes of the rest of the world. Fact.

Why would I shift my views when no one has actually presented any convincing opposing evidence?

RIP - The Rev: February 9, 1981 – December 28, 2009
RIP - Mitch Lucker: October 20, 1984 - November 1, 2012
RIP - Dimebag Darrell: August 20, 1966 – December 8, 2004
RIP - Ronny James Dio: July 10, 1942 - May 16, 2010

I don't even know what yo say to this. I listen for fun, to practice on my drums, and to game with. If it revolves around my drumming, then it's typically to help my technique and overall rhythm and speed.

Since your calling everybody a "filthy casual", will you tell us what kind of music you like and actually say something intellligent instead of "your opinion is invalid."

I don't listen to Indie music. I listen to the classics. Queen, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John, etc.

Because it's all a speculative subject. There is no "convincing opposing evidence" because there are no sides. It's an open subject. Music is so varied that you'd have to be completely sheltered or stupid to believe that there is only one way to properly enjoy it.

Music may be varied, but that doesn't mean that the quality of all music is equal.

Two movies you should watch: Fight Club and Pineapple Express

"Wait. What do you mean, it's dead?"
"If marijuana is not legal within the next five years I have no faith left in humanity, period. Everyone likes smoking weed. They have for thousands of years. They're not going to stop anytime soon. You know? It makes everything better. Makes food taste better, makes music better. It makes sex feel better for God's sake. It makes -blam!- movies better you know?"

Who said it can't be used for both? Also today's music>70's music and by today's music I mean anything good from the 90s to now.

Dark as times may seem, the moon is always your friend. Providing light, coming closer, and always watching out for you. Yes, the moon is a true friend...

I find it funny how no one gets that he's trying to show the gaming community through semblance.

He's showing how stupid elitest gamers' ideas of casual gamers are by comparing it to the music industry (I.E.: Elitest think that gaming is meant to be competitive only and not for enjoyment itself to music elitest thinking that music should only be listened to for enlightenment and not for fun itself.)

He doesn't actually mean it. He's only trying to make a point

Goddamn. And I thought I was being too obvious.

Actually considering peoples over passionate view of music you should not be surprised people didn't catch on.

Music may be varied, but that doesn't mean that the quality of all music is equal.
Which is a subjective point. There wouldn't be competition or fandoms within music culture if everyone thought that specific music is objectively good or bad.

In response to the above posts, this thread was a terrible analogy. No wonder people didn't catch on.

To be honest, you should have used novelists as a standing point.

I like Cheese

What a quality thread we have here.
I listen to old music for their meaning, but new music I listen to it so I could dance and have fun.
That's my 2 cents.

It's pretty much the same exact thing as video game elitists.

Actually it was pretty obvious. Maybe people just wanted to answer the way they did anyways.

Except it isn't. Games and the community are much more complex than music.
