I think it should. Everyone but America already uses metric measurements for everything, so why not for time, too? Instead of having minutes and hours (such inefficiency--60 minutes in an hour? 24 hours in a day? Who came up with this?), everything is a measure of seconds, with different prefixes to denote different units; e.g. kiloseconds and gigaseconds. There's a reason that the world switched to using metric measurements; it's a shame that time is the one measurement that got left out. It would make time-based calculations a lot easier, because you no longer have to convert between hours and minutes; everything is neat simple divisions of ten.
