Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

Yes.

Its the US's own fault there are so many gun crimes in the country.

You're a a complete moron and very ignorant, VERY ignorant. Gun control will just take the guns away from people who aren't killing others. If a criminal is going to commit a crime you thinking banning guns will make him any less capable of committing a crime?
Well would a terror attack have to go through years of planning when you dont have gun control? Because I don't think so.

This guy at the shooting just took his mothers convinient guns as they are allowed during his moments of mental breakdown. Though I realize gun control is not a good solution for crime infested countries, but you have very disconnected mind about this. Because this guy was not a regular criminal.

I understand the emotional, kneejerk response a lot of people want, but that doesn't mean its the right response.

What happened after 9/11? They made it extra difficult to access a plane with weapons

So why can't the concept of making it more difficult to access firearms be added? Or do we need more events to realize this?

Whatever checks the TSA put to try to keep planes safe is retarded, they haven't caught a single terrorist, or foiled a terror plot. Ever. The terrorists just got more creative, the underwear bomber only failed because of passengers on the plane, not the TSA.
They haven't caught any terrorists? So that means they're doing their job cause the terrorists are smart to not even bother. And their have been plenty of terror plots that have been foiled by the FBI over the years.

By the FBI.

Not the TSA. The terrorists haven't had a chance to try many times, because usually the FBI, NSA, and CIA are on top of it.

I am not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying that what the TSA does is knee-jerk reactionary. What the FBI does, is preventative. We need more preventative stuff. Like the better treatment of mental illness.

Wow, what an enormously corny statement. Get off your soap box for a second; com back down to earth and realize that crap happens. It's not going to make a difference if one child's mother feels oh so much pain. Frankly, it shouldn't. The matter is that there's not a good enough reason to remove all guns. It will just turn into another stupid war. Like the war against alcohol and drugs. We don't need that.

Some guns need to be banned and all guns need strict laws, regardless of what an right-wing gun nutt thinks.

I just think enough is enough its not right that people have to go through this especially in America. And it is defiantly not right that this can be allowed to continue without some intervention from the Government

I think 20+ children being murdered is a good reason to get rid of assault rifles. Or is target practise and hunting more important for you?

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

I'm just going to say this before I leave this thread.

Whether you're pro-gun or anti-gun, you're entitled to your opinion. However, before forming your opinion you should see both ends of the spectrum, and understand the facts, not rumors. Understand what laws are already in place. Understand the statistics. Understand the classifications and terminology associated with firearms. Our gun laws are not as lenient as you might think. There are checks and balances in place. Not everyone can legally own a firearm. However, anyone that doesn't have respect for the law will not follow any laws regarding a ban. They'll simply get what they want off the black market. Meanwhile, law-abiding citizens that just want to live their life will be disarmed.

If you understand the facts and take emotion out of it, and you're still anti-gun, you're entitled to your opinion. Just know that not everyone shares your opinion, and what works for you or your country doesn't work for everyone else and their country. If you don't like guns, don't buy one. No one is forcing you to. Just don't try to force everyone else to give up something they love just to conform to how you think everyone should be.

  • 12.15.2012 12:04 PM PDT

No.

But anyone who is against a solid system of firearms regulation is just as much of an idiot to me as those who want to get rid of firearms entirely.

You are correct. This shooting in particular was a fluke too most other criminal shootings. I shooting of this magnitude is appalling yes but it doesn't happen frequent enough for us to just take away one of our highly favored constitutional rights.
It's more than just the thought of controlling guns. It's about controlling our freedom! If we start with taking away a freedom like this then what would be next. We would then be on a downhill trot to destroy the very things our founding fathers sought to protect.

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
Thomas Jefferson

Dude.

18 kids, under the age of 10. They hadn't even started their lives yet. This is why people are so upset. Many parents have young children the age of the ones who died, the thought of that happening to their kids terrifies the crap out of them. Be empathetic.

I don't think the founding fathers anticipated school shootings to happen when they wrote the 2nd amendment. Its a 200 year old law

Breh please. The people who support guns are the ones who lack the ability to defend themselves without them. Stop being the dregs of human evolution.

You're so conceited about your opinion, your opinion totally distorted by your own pathetic emotions, that you think all guns are just bad. Let's ban all things that can hurt other people. So, let me think. No more knives, no more hair spray canisters and lighters (flame throwers), no more bottles of whiskey (molotov cocktail). Your argument is stupid.

What does this have anything to do with who can defend themselves and who can't? That's such an idiotic chest thumping, bone headed thing to say. It doesn't matter if someone has the physical ability to defend them self or not. That's completely arbitrary.

The founding fathers were not stupid men. I think they foresaw that firearms would become more prevalent. Anyone with their intelligence could see that firearms, even way back then, were beginning to rapidly advance. In the time that the founders were alive, they went from a firearm ineffective in rain, to one that could be fired in the rain. That was a sign that they were going to be more powerful eventually. They even presided over a huge change in warfare. Snipers, the targeting of commanding officers, and guerrilla warfare.
