"Right now it is raining methane on Titan. The planet Uranus is, hilariously, orbiting the sun sideways while Venus spins backwards. We sit here on a planet marked with collisions, rocked by earthquakes, shaken by storms. A planet doomed to be fried in radiation as its magnetic fields collapse, until the sun grows and leaves nothing of the earth but dust. Here we sit, glasses on our noses, inhalers in our pockets, braces on our teeth, and we say "Behold the perfect ORDER of it all!""

Actually the quote is tides go in, tides go out.

Yeah...watch the full video with him and Richard Dawkins. What I said is also what he said. Well done

Also, blaming violence on video games can have some validity to it.

Maybe some, if they actually had some sort of evidence. But they don't in almost all cases they make an accusation.

You're not a clever person, and your bias gives you no credibility.

This coming from the person who think Neil Armstrong came into contact with aliens.

Also got to love how you failed to retaliate my point on them cutting their sources up and editing out certain things to people attack someone.

Look at the comments on Mass Effect's facebook posts. Most of the people are blaming it since the killer played Mass Effect. Mosts of the comments on the posts are blaming it for the shooting.
I'll be honest, shooting up a school would be preferable to watching the ME3 ending again.

Too soon?

Seriously though, what happened was truly horrible.

I don't see the big deal with what he said, he was essentially just saying that today's culture desensitizes people to killing. He even said this can be through other sources than just video games.

In normal, stable folks, it really has no effect. But in unstable people it can and sometimes does have disastrous consequences.

I believe what he said to be absolutely correct, although I fully disagree with anyone who says that any types of shootings like this are caused solely by video games, or culture as a whole. I believe it's when disturbed and unstable people who, over time, have become desensitized through our general culture reach their internal breaking point through various life/personal issues that these types of terrible acts occur.

Fox News viewers are consistently shown to be the least informed of regular viewers of any other TV Media outlet. This sort of thing is the exact reason why.

You forgot your signature. :)

Anyway, people have been blaming stuff on "Computer games" ever since the very first Wolfenstein came out, like, 20-some years ago.

That made me laugh. Totally agree with you though.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

The media itself shares the blame. If they didn't publicize the hell out of every tragedy just to make a quick buck, people wouldn't get these kind of ideas in their head.

Once again, better mental healthcare needs to be the first step in preventing these tragedies.

Even though every single news outlet is linking this to the entertainment industry...And not to be that guy, but you are the most overtly liberal person I know, your facebook posts during the debates and all. Try to be less biased please.

He added in video games as an after thought..... He mostly blamed reality TV and Facebook.

Am I the only one that actually watched it??
No, I did too; and I completely agree with you.

I ask the same thing of you as I have of other people: show me another news outlet attributing these murders even a little bit to video games.

And you must not know many liberals because I am pretty moderate on certain issues.

Video games desensitize us to violence. It's not like they're incredibly wrong.

lolno

It's not like I'm gonna go on a rampage simply because I play a violent game. I love video games, but this story still really cut me really deep. I've probably killed upwards of 500,000 humans/aliens/creatures in video games, yet I still grieve every time a massacre occurs.

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

I knew that this would happen.

Glad not many people take it seriously anymore though.

And I would like to add that I'm a right-leaning independent, but I still think that Fox News is extremely stupid. Well, sometimes I like to watch the O'Reilly factor just to have some lulz whenever he goes nuts on someone.

I can't because no one publishes it in articles. Show me the article of fox news. Other than the Kotaku one there is none! It's being made a big deal of because it is Fox.

Really? You made constant posts about how Romney is an idiot and how people are stupid for nothing being Liberal. I'm not going to get into a debate about it, but that is not moderate.

I don't need an article when right there, very clearly on air a contributor is speaking about how this could have a link to video games, or "computer games". I didn't say anything about Fox News, I talked about their viewership being misinformed, and this is mainly due to the idiots they invite on the air to share their idiotic opinions like "facebook makes people go into a fictional reality".
