"If you want to test a man's character, give him power" -- Abraham Lincoln

The point is that carrying civilians don't prevent these incidents, they just stop them before more people die.

What we need to work on in our society is prevention, not stopping it once it's already in progress.

I haven't seen anyone on either side offer what could be done to stop these events. You know why? Because they will always happen.

Halo 3 is where the morons of the universe congregates.

I am thinking of an old story. "Three Billy Goats Gruff" (hint the troll dies at the end)

If you had an electron microscope, you still couldn't find the -blam!- I don't give.

To all those who want gun control, this is why the we keep the second amendment in the USA

I refuse to accept that we should just maintain our status quo and accept the fact that these events just happen and there's nothing we can do about. There's absolutely no reason we shouldn't try to prevent these incidents from happening again.

Gun control =/= banning all guns.

People in favor of gun control don't want to take your guns away, they just want to make sure that people who shouldn't have guns don't get their hands on them.

Stop being all "no no, give me my guns" and instead work towards "what can we do to keep innocent people from dying"

So...

How many shootings have actually happened before this particular occurrence ended the way it did?

Psychological examinations prior to buying the gun.

I can't sit here behind my computer and tell you how to fix this problem, so don't expect award-winning solutions.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Or how it was stopped will be downplayed.

Unfortunately, I don't think this story is going to get the coverage it deserves.

I'm pretty sure people still died...

No one said people didn't.
This. You can't save everyone in a situation like this.

Not enough deaths.

Not enough deaths, not a good enough story for the blood-thirsty media.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

"He was working on his rifle," said Meli. "He kept pulling the charging handle and hitting the side."

The break in gunfire allowed Meli to pull out his own gun, but he never took his eyes off the shooter.
Let this be a lesson, Flood. If you're gonna shoot up a mall, know how to clear a jam properly.
Good advice.
