I just came back from watching The Hobbit, and jesus christ it was a pretty damn good movie. I think just about everyone here on The Flood would agree - wow!
Peter Jackson = Legend. I like how he can span three movies over the course of one book. In a way, thats quite good. At least everything isn't rushed and piled into three hours. Can't wait for the The Desolation of Smaug. The fighting at all times was absolutely immense, the Dwarven battle at the begging was awesome!
The we have the Orcs (and Goblins):
The Pale Orc - what a villain eh? He was a quality bad guy, think he might have done a better job in Halo 4 then The Didact haha. Him and his pale Warg gave me the chills, especially on top of that Weathertop Lookout place (not sure what it is really called).
The Orcs, geez, they were the most violent, ugly and fierce enemies I have ever seen. I almost prefered them to the previous ones, but both types fit in to their own movies. It was like things got re-ramped but for the better! The Goblins were snivelling angry bastards. Oh and THE -blam!- STORM GIANTS ZOMG KJDNJNDUEHJXNMZMLSKSJIDJD, my mind was blown.
All in all, this is a bloody amazing start to a trilogy.
