Thread inspired by the other thread of Fox blaming Video Games for the Connecticut Cut shootings.
Anyways, before you go ahead and call me stupid or an idiot for this, just read a bit more.
Isn't it entirely possible, that at least a few of shootings DID get motivated/inspired by violent video games? I know many of us would want to deny it, as we are gamers, and blaming video games would mean they'd try to take away our precious video games. However, after all the countless, countless, claims that video games encouraged someone to do this, isn't it just a little possible that there may be some truth to it? You can't just throw them all away, if 5 teens go shoot something up, and they all happened to have played Call of Duty a lot, isn't it possible to link them together? I mean, it doesn't make it true, but it could be a possibility, and to throw away the claim because it'll 'take away our video games' is a little silly.
I mean, we see it all the time on The Flood and the Internet, blaming kids for 'being stupid' now a days on the Media, we blame it on shows like 'Jersy Shore' and what not, if we are so quick to blame it on shows like this, why are we so quick to not even consider the fact that Video Games don't help motivate someone?
Not saying I believe it or not, but, can't the claim hold a little truth to it?
