Years ago, we used to get long movies with deep plots that required you to think. Nowadays, we get one hour and a half pieces of crap that are made for the ADHD casual moviegoer.

These films have no plot whatsoever. They're made to be flashy with an over-reliance on explosions and other special effects, and utilize poor camera (shaky cam) and editing techniques. All to satisfy people with the attention-spans of rats, the casual moviegoers.

Gone are the movies like 2001 and The Godfather. In their place we have Transformers and Taken.

Thank you, casuals. You have ruined my precious film industry.

Agree, or disagree?

Hate cats.

Who doesn't want 3 hours of robots and explosions?

  • 12.15.2012 3:25 PM PDT

Disagree. The Dark Knight Trilogy.

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

The movie industry is just catering to the casuals! They need a HUGE title update.

If you can't find any movies with deep, thought-provoking plots made today, you obviously aren't looking hard enough.

No, what ruined it is special effects and editing.

Back in the day you would see something like a fight scene from 1 maybe 2 camera angles, and the actors actually had to do stuff. Now we get 10 angles every second and you can barely tell what is actually happening.

Disagree. The Dark Knight Trilogy.

The Plot Hole Rises is not thought-provoking in the slightest.

Dear Floodians:

A Girl thread a day keeps the ladies at bay and gets us banned, the lonely single way.

Like the James Bond movies were any better?

Blind luck always prevails.

My film/week ratio is only 0.8 because I watch for fun.

Just a few of the plot holes/stupid decisions made by the characters

>Bruce Wayne can make it to Gotham from the prison with no money, no technology, and no form of transportation within a few days.

>ALL OF THE POLICEMEN UNDERGROUND AT THE SAME TIME

>Broken spines being repaired with rope

>Selina is supposed to be the love interest, despite her and Bruce having no chemistry at all

>Bane somehow knowing the location of the Batman Armory

>We have no idea where the prison was, what kind of supplies were given to him, or how close it might have been to a city where he could walk in and say "I am Bruce Wayne."
>The policemen were sent underground to locate Bane's sanctuary and flush him out, a task requiring immense manpower. Hence most of them being underground.
>What?
>Selina is played as somebody who is interested in the concept of Batman. Circumstance forces them to work together, and when you combine that with two people who are both very interesting to one another...
>Bane was working with Miranda Tate, who was part of Wayne Enterprises, no? She would have had access to inside info, lots of it. The armory was connected to Wayne Enterprises, after all.

You asked for it.
And some more.

My favourite part was when it went from midday to midnight in 8 minutes. Not to mention Hollywood's usual scientific illiteracy reached new heights with the fusion device, I don't even know where to start. I didn't think they could beat the microwave machine in BB for pure derp, but they managed it.
