Subject: Dark Souls or Mass Effect 3?

I was originally going to buy Mass Effect 3, but have been recently watching videos for Dark Souls. Both look amazing. I was wanting to finish off the trilogy for the ME series, but Dead Souls looks like a refreshing experience.

In your opinion, which should I get? Which game has a better story, multiplayer, etc...

This would be a good time to point out that the US Government seriously did consider nuking the moon during the Cold War as a show of force. Project A119.

"A large explosion on the Terminator line would put the sun behind the mushroom cloud, making the explosion visible with the naked eye from Earth."

Then the US decided they'd just send in Neil Armstrong to land on it. Neil Armstrong - the one man on the earth that was considered a suitable replacement for a nuclear missile.

Mass Effect is phenomenal. Haven't played Dark Souls, though.

Dark Souls, because Mass Effect will influence you into shooting up an elementary school

The acceptance of defeat is an invitation for its repetition.

Oh boy, here comes the rage debate squad.

Anyway, I loved Mass Effect 3 and it still has some of the most memorable moments in a game from this year for me.

And he entered the service of the Dark Tower when it first rose again, and because of his cunning he grew ever higher in the Lord's favour; and he learned great sorcery, and knew much of the mind of Sauron; and he was more cruel than any orc.

Mass Effect 3 was great. Dark Souls was phenomenal. Definitely the best game of 2011, one of the best I've ever played.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

After you watch the ending, this is very well a possibility.

Which has a longer playthrough, or more replay value?

Mass Effect has a huge amount of replay value. There are so many side missions and you can always choose a different path at the end.

A solid ME3 all-missions done and stuff collected/explored took me about 32-34 hours.

DLC adds in another 4-5 hours worth.

I've got hundreds of hours in dark souls. Haven't played ME3 though. I imagine the multiplayer has some replay appeal but dark souls will be fun no matter how many times you play it.
