F0ck the police

Give me starter advice. I've played oblivion, skyrim, and a bit of daggerfall.

  • 12.15.2012 7:31 PM PDT

I know everything, I've just forgotten most of it.

Also, my XBL Gamertag is 'Wenggh', not 'A Stolen Fruit'.

Kill people, do Quests and level up.

Dont venture far from the path

Forget everything you know about the combat in Oblivion and Skyrim. Morrowind's a different beast.

Does Morrowind even work on today's computers?

<------Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 emblem.

This game will devour your soul. If you manage to get hooked on to it (which is somewhat difficult because although there are some great quests and intriguing depth, the mechanics of the game are quite terrible), you will never return from the abyss that is Morrowind.

It's a great game though.

Yes. I've played daggerfall on my PC and that game was made in 1996. I stopped playing because dungeons were god awful hard. The enemies were fair game.

Download the Morrowind Overhaul mod OP.

Google Ornicopter and download version 3. It's beautiful.

Don't be confused when your sword swings don't register.

NON FACET NOBIS CALCITRARE VESTRUM PERNĒ¢UM

Steal everything in the first office off the boat, drop it before he yells at you to drop it, after he says you shouldn't steal, pick it back up and it's yours. Nice way to start off with a bit of inventory to sell.

Break the windowsill

Morrwind uses a dice roll system. The lower your level the more likely you will miss a sword swing/ magic attack

  • 12.16.2012 11:31 AM PDT

When you start first, search a barrel, pick up the ring inside. Whaen a stranger asks you to give him the ring: give it to him. Wait until night, follow the stranger from the pub, follow him until the treetrunk, search it, pick up money as well as ring.

Wait until morning, walk outside the city, go LEFT, when going left, someone will be crashing from the sky, loot him, pick up his lightning sword, and his Scrolls... DO NOT USE THE SCROLLS!!!! If you do, you will die.

Return to the city, and start the main quest. Starter advice...

Or... Press the "~`" button. (beneath the "esc" button) and enter tgm
You'll like it. (God Mode)
or ddk
(Daedric Dai Katana)

We don't need a rule for every single freaking thing someone thinks is spam.

Find a trainer, spend a whole bunch of gold on a combat skill, be able to hit things. Also, spears are fantastic weapons.

On another note, if you go to wolverine hall, go outside and to the tavern nearby you can buy a spell of damage skill. With this spell you find a spell maker (there's one in the tavern if I recall) and get a spell of "damage (skill you want to train here) on self for 2-3 seconds of power 100." This allows you to purchase training for that skill for 1 gold and when the spell wears off, you have the points that you purchased added. I recommend training destruction first simply to make the spell more effective. Technically an exploit, but w/e, morrowind is filled with them.

Oh and for the love of god, DO NOT kill random people in towns, there is no required npc invincibility, and if it isn't part of the main quest you won't be warned that you just screwed yourself and to load another save. Nothing worse than playing for hours and hours and finding out you can't complete a deadric shrine quest because you murdered an orc for his armour and you needed him.

I've been playing Halo since 2002. My earliest memories include hiding at the shotgun window on Damnation and killing my dad with grenades while playing co-op on Pillar of Autumn.

Have fun gambling when you fight anything.

Also make sure to wear reading glasses.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I didnt have a problem with it. I actually like the combat in Morrowind. It give a sense of player growth. You start out -blam!-, but with practice you become better.
