Subject: Any PSP/Vita/PS1 games you would reccomend?

I'm planning on picking up a Vita soon if I don't get one for Christmas, and I've come to ask you guys what games there are to reccomend. Since the Vita can play PSP and PS1 games as well as its own, those are on the table too. Here's my ideas so far:

Persona 4 Golden
Gravity Rush
Persona 3 Portable
Daxter
CTR
Spyro: Ripto's Rage
Twisted Metal... 4, I think? One of the PS1 ones that my brother had years ago. (if it's available on PSN)
NFL Blitz(if it's available on PSN)

Do you gentlemen have any more to add? I chose a Vita over a PSP because of the backwards-compatibility and because of Persona 4 Golden/Gravity Rush.

Isn't it all of them? That's what I assumed, anyway.

I may be mistaken on whether the Vita can play PS1 games, though. I'll check these two things now.

Thanks for the recommendations so far, everybody. I appreciate it.

Might be mistaken, but I think Sony still only gives out a selection of backward compatible games for Vita for each region.

That is a stupid move and I -blam!- hate it

I don't know if it's on PSN, but try and get Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles if it is. If not, get Symphony of the Night.

Vagrant Story is a good PS1 RPG. I haven't really checked what's available though.

The Persona games are excellent. I see they're on your list already.

What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger

Why only Spyro 2? Get 1 and 3 as well!

The Song Of Nephilim

Xenoblade <3

Twisted metal 4 is so bad. The worst of the series.

  • 12.15.2012 7:51 PM PDT

Not seeing any Monster Hunter in this list, needs more of it.

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

DBZ Legends. A great game nobody's played.

Twisted Metal 3 and 4 both suck balls, Twisted Metal 2 is the standard by which all Twisted Metals should be judged.

I highly recommend playstation plus. For 50 bucks a month you will get uncharted golden abyss, gravity rush, final fantasy war of the lions. It's a great value. With more vita games coming this month.

Far as PS1 games get ff7, resident evil 2 or 3, ff8. Total classics.

Here's a list of the Vita-compatible PS1 games. Shame that the Spyro games aren't on that list.

Here are the Vita-compatible PSP games. Huzzah! Both Daxter and P3P are on it!

If you feel like looking through these before posting, that would be sweet, but I was planning on doing all the work to see if the games are avaiable myself anyway. Thanks again for the help.

So Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Twisted Metal 2, DBZ Legends, Final Fantasy 7, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and another Castlevania game whose name escapes me because I didn't reread the thread again before typing this post have been given the Flood seal of approval?

Whoever said we have to support Atlus, I agree. Only reason I don't buy every single one of their games I want new is because there wasn't a new copy of Devil Survivor in my area.

I used to be indecisive, but now i'm not sure.

PS VITA GAMES: Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Marvel vs Capcom and Wipeout 2048.

PS1: Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped, DRIVER and Castlvania Symphony of the Night

PSP: GTA Vice City Stories and GTA Liberty City Stories.

There just aren't enough moments in the day to rectify the wrongs of the past.

Riviera: The Promised Land for PSP, along with Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, the latter can be pretty difficult but a great fighting game of sorts, while the former is one of the greatest Game Boy Advance RPG's to ever grace the planet, which gets redone on the PSP.
