Subject: The Mysterious Mystery of the Mysterious Shadow Mods.

Questions lead to learning, learning leads to kowledge, knowledge leads to understanding, understanding leads to peace.

"I would kill to get a killionaire... 10 times... digitally."

So I've heard talk around here from time to time of Shadow Mods. They mostly seemed to be dismissed as rumors, (Unless a ninja is in the thread, then they are promoted mercilessly.) but the rumors persist none the less. So I began to think, what if they are real. Who would they be? Why would they be given mod powers. Then it hit me.

Employees. It's acknowledged that their are employees on the site who don't have the golden bar or title, but just regular looking accounts. It makes sense that they could be the ones given mod powers. They're close enough to Bungie to make this a possibility.

What do you think? Is it possible that some of them are shadow mods, or maybe even the whole shadow mod thing got started because someone realized the hidden employees might have mod powers?

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

The Mysterious Stranger is watching.

Furious George: The new -blam!-

I imagine that the employees are too busy to be shadowmodding but that's ok - we have plenty of shadowmods to clean up while mods are sleeping.

This is what I mean by "Mercilessly Promoted".

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

I doubt employees are shadow-modding.

But make no mistake, they are real and they are out there. Waiting for you to slip up.

We should know better, because we are better.

Random thought: why don't the shadow mods ban anyone who speaks of them unless they are using the widespread knowledge about them as a tool for denying they exist? They are so overt, they are covert.

A simple life.

Shadow mods are a lie! The mods would never let other users have their same power and remain anonymous.

Carpe Diem - Carpe Coffee

Astronomy Picture of the Day!

Most of the shadow mods aren't even people, let alone Bungie employees. They mostly consist of pasty soulless vessels, with nothing on their mind but banning users and drinking coffee.

Don't ask me how I know this.

Some people believe in shadow mods. Theories of what they are vary, but it's generally accepted that they are users with mod powers, but retain gray text. They mainly lock threads and dish out warnings. Not many people actually know who any of us are, but those who do are mainly other ninjas and employees.

That said, there's almost always one mod on.

The most dangerous gunslinger in the west.

There everywhere, and nowhere. Attempt to find them and you will find nothing. Everyone feels their presence.

*Whoosh*

Don't even attempt to find them, or even THINK of them, or else sure destruction awaits...

No, I do not want to join your clan/group.

They hide among us... Clearly, the only rational solution is to have a good old fashioned witch hunt to ferret them out!

No Idea, but shadow mods would actually be a good idea. I'm not sure how a user could appeal a ban though, they would have to go straight to the ninjas. Anyway, less people would craze this 'member position' as it would have no silly atomic orange theme or title :P

I mean IF YOU were a shadow then obviously HALF of you would tell someone else. Shadow mods would have to under go a lot more noodle whipping.. so that they are broken down more and don't give their position away.

Only once they have survived that and beaten Achronos as 'captain' will they be accepted into the Knight-hood of the shadow ninjas.

I'm just guessing by the way..

I have one thing to change. They are beaten with Shadow Noodles, a much more dark, anonymous noodle.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Why am I reading all the posts as if they were whispered?

  • 12.16.2012 4:05 AM PDT

"Life to you stepson and everlasting glory. " Thifes World.

Me thinks this is just whispers rumors being told like a bunch of old ladies at the hair salon. They might or might not be true but without proof its like discussing if Santa is real or not.

Truth lies in middle but even if i knew i would never tell. If as you say shadow mods walk among us yet i am unafraid. So tell water cooler stories if you dare to think such legends are true. XD.

*Rolls with Master Chief(Dressed in black armor) to the nearest burger joint up in a Warthog.* "Two bacon doubles!." Drives past the others waving at the Water Cooler they are gossiping at. I seem obvious to the fact Chief is wearing black armor.*

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Well, you can't prove that {moderator name} really banned/warned you.
Shadow mods could simply use a public moderator's username to compensate for hiding themselves.
