I was just wondering if were going to actually have full scale battles in Halo 3?

I'll explain myself further. Although Halo 2 was great, theres no contesting that, I simply felt the battles didn't satisfy my need for playing an actual war against the covenant. Sure we get teamed up with a few Marines and go from point a to point b and then it ends. I guess I kinda hopeing for WWII style where theres hundreds of planes flying over head, thousands of troops storming below, and its outright chaos and confusion. Bullets are whizzing by, and theres explosions left and right.

Normally we see like one scorpion tank, I wanna see like a batallion of like 7 trying to take out a regiment of Wraiths. Banshees flying overhead intercepting Human Longswords in an ariel dog fight of banshee bombs and missiles. And below hundreds of marines charge head first towards a mass of Covenant forces, plasma rifles and sticky bombs ablazing.

Well I guess thats my simple rant and idea suggestion.

it might happen. bungie might go all-out to make halo 3 better and more intense than the other two.

just one prob

bungie conviently set up the story so that itll be another " 1 vs. 1000" scenario

according to them we dont have the manpower for a full scale war

but im hoping to see one still. it would be the rockorz

Well I assume most of the humans get destroyed in the battles takeing place in the end of Halo 2 where we are getting overun, so maybe we can actually fight in the "loosing battles" or something and some how escape MC is prettyr good at that lol

Good point, but you would think that every human militant would be there to defend earth. There has to be some people left....Look how many people were on the Cairo. There were still like.....497 left in orbit when you left for D. Halo....

I think it would be neat to have a level where we simple just get overun and and the intro is a cinema which shows a genocide of our troops fighting to the death to save earth from the covies, and it opens up mid chaos to you running forward leading the next wave of futiles.

Real Custom Games - Breaking the Halo Cookie Cutter One Gametype at a Time

He's just a genius in the computer and game world. Enough said.

I definetly would love the huge battle idea, but not in the open, charging hundreds side by side. More like a huge battle in the cities as the covenet rush for control of the last remaining human cities. Imaging running through these huge city levels with fights everywhere. Overhead you see ships battling and scarabs prowling. Your there, you break the line and begin to flank the covies along the rest of the line. Basically still WWII style battles but not the charging at the beach type, more the battle for the citiy type. Maybe they should have another company make a spinoff called Halo: Marines where you fight as a marine making earths last stand. Well any ways, I would simply love huge battles through the streets, though they'd have to be a bit more open then in Halo 2, the you could have tanks and such.

That would be pretty cool. Just a point of contention, but it would likely be Seraph fighters dogfighting with the Longswords. Banshees are definitely not big/fast enough for that sort of thing.

Heres why halo 2 did not have the epic scale battles.... Bungie had to make a tradeoff due to the xboxes power.... It is not strong enough to have those graphics with a lot of characters on a level at the same time...So they decided to make the graphics better than halo 1's, but had to lower the amount of enemies on a level. IMO, they should of just kept the halo graphics (they still look good to this day), but kept the epic scale and sheer magnitude of enemies. In halo ce, i felt like i was in a war...In halo 2, i didnt feel that at all. I felt like i wasnt fighting anything grand or "epic"... Just my thought. Oh yeah, with the 360 now, bungie now has the ability to apply amazing graphics, with HUGE, SCALED, AND AMAZING BATTLES... BE PREPARED PPL, HALO 3 WILL ROCK THIS WORLD.

I think most of you dont seem to notice that the first level is gonna be in a spaceship...probably the ark (seeing as the last 2 games also started out in a ship.) There is also gonna be a small tutorial like the first 2 games to get you normalized to the controls...like the first 2 games. They could however hold back the tutorial until you landed on earth and meet up with some people who just "happen" to have some new armor for you to get yourself acquainted with
