Maybe in multiplayer.... I don't know how many people we could fit, with latency and lag and what not but a fun game type could be "vehicle war"

Huge map, nothing but vehicles and mass destruction.

As for in campaign who cares if its gonna start off on a ship, I wasn't implying this big huge battle idea should be the first level just one of them, the replay value would be fun as well.

*cough* never pl;ayed halo 1*cough*

Anyway yeah definately urban warfare would be amazing coupled with dare I say destructive envrioments......

Dude I own Halo 1 and 2, and why'd you say that, I know halo 1 had open enviourments, I also know that Halo 2 had rather enclosed enviourments, I think they should seek something in between like urban combat but with wider streets then in Halo 2, this would allow for more vehicle combat. Take Terminal for example, pefect idea of the scale I'm talking about. Lots of buildings and urban type combat, but streets and areas wide enough for vehilces to come in to play. And definetly more destructable/interactive enviourments, though not too far, we all remember Red Faction. Though the urban combat does not seem to fit the story line, unless ofcourse the MC maybe makes a detour to a last stand at a city thats on his way to the forerunner facility.

Yeah, I totally agree- this is some of the stuff that I'd really like to see in Halo 3. To me, the thing that comes the absolute closest (which isn't saying much) is the beach assault in Halo CE. And that's kinda lame that that's as close as we've gotten. I want to see gigantic battles in a canyon or an open African plain- man, I would seriously pee my pants if I saw all that.

That would be sweet. A huge battle would be my favourite level to play on. I support this idea.

Yeah, so far, in none of the Halo games has there been a level that makes me want to play it over and over. If there was some gigantic land battle, I think I would play that thing probably nonstop. If any of you are old enough to have played Shadows of the Empire on N64, my favorite level in that game (and quite possibly of all time in a campaign game) was the ending space battle- because it felt huge, and like an actual battle at the time. I would just play it over and over for hours, trying to see all the damage I could do, and each time felt different to me.

Heres why halo 2 did not have the epic scale battles.... Bungie had to make a tradeoff due to the xboxes power.... It is not strong enough to have those graphics with a lot of characters on a level at the same time...So they decided to make the graphics better than halo 1's, but had to lower the amount of enemies on a level. IMO, they should of just kept the halo graphics (they still look good to this day), but kept the epic scale and sheer magnitude of enemies. In halo ce, i felt like i was in a war...In halo 2, i didnt feel that at all. I felt like i wasnt fighting anything grand or "epic"... Just my thought. Oh yeah, with the 360 now, bungie now has the ability to apply amazing graphics, with HUGE, SCALED, AND AMAZING BATTLES... BE PREPARED PPL, HALO 3 WILL ROCK THIS WORLD.

I couldn't agree more with everything you said. And I sincerely hope you're right.

Oh I don't know - I think final run was the closest we came to a large-scale battle, but the beach landing in the silent cartogropher was sick.

all this sounds cool but theyed have to make u take one path toward the end ove a lvl like make a elite jump on a hog and kill the ppl in it and then it could hit a building and block it so theres 1 path to set up a cutscene for the next lvl intro

I was just wondering if were going to actually have full scale battles in Halo 3?

I'll explain myself further. Although Halo 2 was great, theres no contesting that, I simply felt the battles didn't satisfy my need for playing an actual war against the covenant. Sure we get teamed up with a few Marines and go from point a to point b and then it ends. I guess I kinda hopeing for WWII style where theres hundreds of planes flying over head, thousands of troops storming below, and its outright chaos and confusion. Bullets are whizzing by, and theres explosions left and right.

Normally we see like one scorpion tank, I wanna see like a batallion of like 7 trying to take out a regiment of Wraiths. Banshees flying overhead intercepting Human Longswords in an ariel dog fight of banshee bombs and missiles. And below hundreds of marines charge head first towards a mass of Covenant forces, plasma rifles and sticky bombs ablazing.

Well I guess thats my simple rant and idea suggestion.

That would be cool in a couple of levels to mix it up a bit......not every level obviously. Or even the last level.....Finish the Fight as it says. Say 5-6 warthogs pelting around with guass canons going off against lots of ghosties......banshee's flying overhead, tanks, wraiths......snipers in the background etc etc. That could work.

You think it got what it takes to be..?.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

Battles in Halo 3

Should be more realistic. I don't want 5 to 6 allies anymore! I want at least 10 allies now and more enemies this time. Have all of the levels mock the Assault in the Control Room level in Halo 1. What I mean is make a group of at least 10 allies and make like 20 enemies. They should make a level were there is like tons of allies and enemies. That is what I call Military Strategy Forget the fact that there is a little bit of humans! That idea sucks. I hate levels where you fight on your own. ex: The Library scenario.

"but you already knew that, I mean, how couldn't you?

Only when no Human brick is left atop another, shall we be satisfied with your destruction.

I think the level that so far has felt the most like a huge battle, was Two betrayals in halo 1, what with the four different factions all in there at once (you, the sentinals, the covenant, and the flood) I want to see more of that kind of battle, maybe with more marines thrown in there for good measure.....

I know this wasn't a big battle, but one of my favorite parts of Halo 2 is when you go are about to go into the building with Cpl Perez. It's not very large 2 wraiths a few ghosts, some snipers, a phantom, a warthog (or two if you kept the gauss cannon) and a couple marines at your back. There is shooting going on everywhere! Sniper beams every direction ghost boosting right at you wraith mortars blowing up! It wasn't huge, but it was fun.

Tha battle for newmombasa in h2 was almost what we are looking for but it was too scripted, id rather just have sarge say, go get em, the city is you oyster and leacve it at that, with warthogs and tanks and banshees flying around with foot battles, it should be random and not on rails.

Exactly Stigibird, I left with the same feeling of being on "train tracks"

I want a battle where at least some planning or strategy is actually involved something that makes me think.

If their is an urban warfare level, its needs to be the most chaotic thing with buildings being blown up over head, you actaully have to look out for falling debri, multiple scarabs laying eveything to waist (I wanna see the ship that brought those things over)

I alleyways with a platoon of 4-8 hunters in front in back of a sqaud of elites or whatever makeing like a phalanx type thing actual enemy team work.... (I know elites hunters grunts are on ourside but maybe a few didn't wanna turn to the human aid, theres always extremists lol)

Simply I want more and I know bungie is creative enough to give it to us ^_^

They talk about epic scales.
I would like to see 100's of flood storming MC as he gonna find his way to the control and fire halo, after he found the time travel crystall where he meets forerunners and 343 guiltyspark :P

I personally love vehicles so my niche would be to have the ability to pilot and fight in more vehicles,

A dog fight would be awesome.

And if you have to eject what not theres a huge battle going on down below anyway. Its constant action and mayhem.

Instead of being in charge of 3 spartans or flying the pelican,or whatever i heard so far, please do a game like halo and halo2,and just add better graphic and let us finish the fight.
Dont go off in these crazy ideas,,might destroy rthe whole game.
Do that in some spin off sequals if you must.

So why do people keep playing Final Fantasy?
Cause basically they add better graphics and a new story.

The battle text system is still in use.
