In terms of fairness, realistic behavior, and battle tactics, I think REACH was the best in terms of excellent AI behavior. The elites were always flanking, taking cover, and suppressing when necessary. Whereas in Halo 2 and CE they shot a TON of bullets for long volleys and were just bullet sponges. Wraiths just were also ridiculous, but made sense for alien tech artilary IMO.

ODST was like 3, they both were great, but Reach was just taking it to another level cause the Hunters were actually difficult this time, and the AAs the enemy used were dynamic.

Halo 4 was just sad in terms of AI capability. The elites refused to flank and dodge, and just were filler so that you didn't get bored of the Promethians. The Hunters went back to being epic failiures also, and the Promethians were too damn easy to kill. But it was still a better AI than CE, due to the age of the game.

Reach > Halo 3 = ODST > Halo 2 > Halo 4 > Halo CE

So vote and please explain, I'm working on a game and I'm wondering what you guys look for in enemy AI. Thanks for your comments!

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

Halo 3. I always saddled up some ODSTs with rocket launchers in a Warthog, because I knew I could count on them to quickly take care of enemies.

To obtain, something of equal value must be lost.

Either ODST or Reach in terms of intelligence and difficulty.

Non Nobis Nascimur - We are not born for ourselves.

I like CE AI because Elites were way more aggressive. They wouldn't always just sit back and take cover, they would often come for you and hunt you down.

I thought ODST had the best AI.

Halo CE Enemies.

But Halo 4's allies seem the most capable. They haven't driven me off a cliff yet, which is a bonus.

Of the Halo's I played, CE's Marine AI was the best. They at least tried to dodge plasma grenades. I swear, in Halo 2 and 3, they had a knack for taking them directly to the face. Then the whole squad would huddle together and die. In CE, the stuck Marine ran away from his buddies before he bought it.

hmm

The AI in ODST are the best imo, they seem so real and aggressive. Also Promethians, both intelligent and amusing to kill.

Halo 2.

Dem Jackal snipers and Drones.

I was a finalist :P

Enemy AI for me had to go to CE. Not too sure about ally AI.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

Reach definitely had the best AI, though CE's AI were arguably more fun to fight.

Halo: Reach.

Whereas in Halo 2 and CE they shot a TON of bullets for long volleys and were just bullet sponges.
CE Elites weren't bullet sponges, didn't have bottomless clip (any Elite could suffer from it, it's just some ranks had controlled firing rate), each Elite rank had a distinct firing pattern, didn't hoard power weapons, Spec Ops Elites only used their grenades when engaged, Zealots only berserked when you got too close and gave you time to flee.

Yeah CE Elites were OP...

Let's all just be happy! Doesn't that sound like fun?

Yay!

Friendly AI? DEFINITELY NOT REACH. I'd have to probably say CE, if only for they were fun loving, with cheers when you caught air in the 'hog.

Enemy? CE had very engaging and unpredictable AI, which made them more fun.

Probably Reach

  • 12.15.2012 11:06 PM PDT

ROFLCOPTER

I have been killed by ALL of them. ecept Halo 4s...

Halo 4?

One does not simply trolololol into Mordor.

For me the Reach AI was the worst, no intelligence increase per difficulty, they just became more spammy and had more fuel rods. They were the worst of the series to me.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

Reach had great AIs, except for Noble Team.
ODST also had good friendlies.
