All you're doing is attention whoring...

* facepalm*

Okay I'll leave if you or anyone can tell be the name of one victim from the "joker shootings" without looking it up. Oh you can't? That's right because you only pretend to care when it happens like everybody else.

Or because I have never heard of a shooting called the "joker shootings".

I didn't think to remember a name. Instead, I chose to remember them all. Every human life is worth something, even the shooter's. Every life.

What exactly are you trying to do here? You're being really -blam!- rude to people who're only trying to do something good. And what exactly do you propose, us not caring at all? Do you want an unsympathetic world?

Quit avoiding my posts.

Everyone, please stop responding to Simba. I don't know why this thread pissed him off so much. Stop helping him derail it.

GOAT

I admit I don't know her name, but I remember the pregnant woman losing the child she was pregnant with, and the girl who got shot in the head, but by some miracle, was able to survive. She was a musician too, suffered no permanent brain damage either.

I remember the pregnant woman because if I was a parent, I think I'd be devastated to lose a child. Those stories always sit with me for a while.

No I want people to stop pretending they care by stupid acts like this. Go out and do something that matters.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

Although he's putting it quite bluntly, Simba has a point.

I was assuming you were referring to the shooting of the Dark Knight movie, but that one was about Bane, not joker.

You say go out and do something, but you don't specify at all of what you expect them to do.

pretty sure their families will do that for them, personally, I'm going to go with the whole "it didn't involve me, and so I'll soon forget it all approach."

At the very least, try to take something from this. Talk to the loner. Give others something they might need. Try to be kinder.
this is what it will take.

I forget who did it, but there was a thread a few days ago by some one who claimed to have prevented a suicide by stopping and talking to a stranger in need. One act, and he made the world a better place.

Not by a lot, but just a little. That's all it takes.

I choose to remember a victim, over making the loser who killed him a celebrity. I will choose to try to make the lives around me better by showing more kindness.

All it takes for evil to succeed is for a few good men to do nothing.

Siimba you're wasting your time. Just let people show their condolences, sure it might not be the best way, but atleast they are.

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

You may not remember the sad, lonely losers name, but you will remember his actions. Just as you will know that Jesse Lewis was killed by him.

Every effort matters.

Not true at all.

Every action has a reaction, be it big or small, good or bad.
A good action usually results in a better outcome. Whether every one of those actions create a bigger reaction is unknown until we all actually try.

However terrible yesterday was, there are always terrible things in the world worth remembering.
then take a name of a victim, put it on here and let their name stand for all the victims. Make them a symbol in your life, and use that symbol to drive you to make a better world.

I chose six year old Jesse Lewis. He will remain six, even when my son is an adult. Hopefully my son will grow up to be a good man because Jesse was there as our symbol, reminding us of who should be remembered, who should be fought for.

Okay. Jesse Owens. Thanks to this gesture by remembering his name I have prevented future world wars.

fact is most actions are pointless and go without outcome because people move on and don't follow through. If someone wants to go out and shoot up another school tomorrow they will.

No one is solving anything with these empty gestures.
