However terrible yesterday was, there are always terrible things in the world worth remembering.
then take a name of a victim, put it on here and let their name stand for all the victims. Make them a symbol in your life, and use that symbol to drive you to make a better world.

I chose six year old Jesse Lewis. He will remain six, even when my son is an adult. Hopefully my son will grow up to be a good man because Jesse was there as our symbol, reminding us of who should be remembered, who should be fought for.

My point is more on the fact that there will always be evil in the world, and it is somewhat naive to let only one victim drive your actions when there are so many. I do let evil drive myself, almost obsessively in my future ambitions somewhat, but it's just that evil in general that I will remember.

I don't remember anyone's name, even from the Batman Massacre, well except from the Shooter that is.
But really, life goes on, even after the Batman massacre everyone forgot about it a week later at most, stop acting like you care.
Yeah, yeah it would be terrible to lost a child in such a way that they're killed in school, but life goes on, the world doesn't stop turning and says"well, they die, so let's stop our life!"

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Of course there is always evil. I find it helps to remind ourselves of who needs to be fought for.

Do what you will to be a better person, or make a better world. I appreciate your honesty, and the respectful manner with which you relayed it.

I don't think anyone said lets stop our lives. I said to remember the victims over the loser, and to use this as the reason to be better people. That's all I have been saying.

Oh, sorry for misunderstanding.
I agree with your saying.

i really wish I was mature enough, or had a big enough heart, to feel anything but utter contempt for him. Sadly, it is not within my capacity. If you can, and I sincerely mean this, you are a better man than I.

Doing this (of all places on the Flood) gets nothing done and is absolutely pointless.

Not as pointless as moaning about it.

Might wanna read more than one post before making one like this. Kinda makes you look dumb. Just saying.

Yet again, not as dumb as assuming that I only read one of your posts. Also not as dumb as typing out you "said" something when you in fact typed it. Unless you did say it out-loud. But now i'm just being petty.

Wait remembering some random kid makes you a better person? I am going to need you to explain how that makes you a better person. Just thinking about someone to make yourself feel better about the whole situation doesn't make you a better person instead it makes you selfish. If you want to improve the situation at least talk about solutions to prevent this from happening in the future or help the families. If anything the gun related threads are more selfless and beneficial than this kind of pity thread.

Tej~

What's your problem simba? if people want to show their feelings then let them, no need to barge in and shove your opinions down their throats.

OT: as much as i'd like to remember them all, i'll stick with Jessica Rekos.

I don't want anyone's pity.
And if this is what it takes, then what do you care?

Everyone grieves in their own way. If you don't agree, just click report on me for being a troll, ignore me and post in the threads below me to bury this thread. But allow those of us who choose to post here our space.

I fine in with grieving in different way, but you said doing this is making you a better person which implies people that don't do this are not. Personally I view that as being selfish and attempting to put yourself on a higher pedestal than others which I view as funny/ironic considering what you are trying to preach. As for your suggestions I don't see why I should do any of those since from what I can tell I am on topic and I am not bothered by this discussion.

I don't even know the killer's name, just that he was a scrawny little guy. I know everyone is rightly angry at him, but I consider his death to be tragic as well.

This.

How is pushing people to be better selfish? I don't think I am better than anyone in here, and don't see where you have read that I said I was.

What drove him to commit such a senseless act?! Perhaps, we'll never know.

It's a fact that anything can happen in our lives. They come when we least expect it.
